Job Description

Brightspeed has an exciting opportunity for an Engineering and Construction Manager to join our growing team. As the Manager you will report into our Director of Centralized Engineering and Construction Support and oversee a team responsible for Enterprise & Wholesale accounts across the 20 state Brightspeed footprint. This position will require navigation through internal and external partners, driving implementation of activities for complex projects. This role requires strong business acumen, the abilities to define and implement groundbreaking ideas, to work within a fast-moving environment to rapidly deliver support and services that have a broad business impact, and desire to have an industry wide impact.

As Manager, Engineering & Construction you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Supporting a diverse workforce that drives centralized construction and network related functions
  • Leading various Engineering and Construction centralized functions - i.e., enterprise provision facility extensions, network rearrangements, first office applications, large scale deployments, etc.
  • Initiatingprocess improvement and developingoperational and network improvement techniques
  • Providingtechnical system support for Engineering and Construction applications
  • Providingcritical data to drive ongoing operational and financial performance improvement. Utilizingdata and analytics to understand the return on investment, capital optimization, and supporting service metric root cause analysis
  • Drivingthe company culture and creatingstrategies to achieve business goals such as increasing revenues, optimizing expenses, and developing a skilled, motivated, satisfied, and diverse workforce
  • Leadingby example in creating an environment that encourages open communication, sharing ideas and best practices, building strong cross-functional relationships
Qualifications

WHAT IT TAKES TO CATCH OUR EYE:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical work experience
  • 5+ years Telecommunication experience
  • Prior industry experience in engineering, network deployments and leading teams
  • Experience with IT systems requirements & development, agile processes, end to end testing
  • Knowledge of engineering and construction-based systems such as IQGeo, Sitetracker, Bidmaster, etc.
  • Program/Project Management experience
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to successfully interact with cross functional teams
  • Process improvement and customer-centric mindset
  • Ability to motivate others and work under pressure
  • Exceptional analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to articulate via written and through communication

DESIRED ADDITIONAL SKILLS:

  • Master's Degree in Engineering or Telecommunications
  • Telecom/Cable/Internet Service Provider industry experience
