CNC Maintenance Mechanic

Pay Starts at $33.00+/hr. Depending on Experience!
1st Shift: 7 am - 4 pm, Monday - Friday

Alsip, IL


Job Summary
The CNC Maintenance Mechanic is a team member who is efficiently planning, installing, and repairing CNC and manual machines. We're seeking a reliable professional with a strong mechanical aptitude who adheres to safety procedures and ethical standards. A successful candidate will be proficient in blueprint reading, the incumbent collaborates seamlessly, upholding our mission, vision, and values.

Responsibilities
*Follow Standard Work - Machine set up, running parts and preventative maintenance (PM).
*Inspect, deburr, and perform manual operations and/or operate other equipment, including the selection and presetting of tools which will be required for the next scheduled job.
*Update and maintain all visual controls.
*Create and/or support countermeasures.
*Operate in and maintain a clean and safe environment.
*Participate and engage in SMED, Kaizen events, and '5 Whys' problem-solving exercises.
*Resolve and/or report equipment abnormalities.
*Follow company safety procedures and standards to insure individual and collective safety, in addition to avoiding unnecessary risk to oneself, co-workers, contractors, customers, and property. Be a stand for safety having the courage to call forth and report unsafe practices.
*All other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications
*2-5 year of CNC maintenance mechanic experience
*Ability to train other Maintenance Technicians and oversee the work of junior mechanics.
*Ability to navigate CNC controls including OSP, Fanuc, Haas controls.
*Ability to complete electrical installations.
*Ability to troubleshoot/repair and train others on turret alignment, spindle/motor replacements, and other machine components rebuilds.
*Strong proficiency to repair and install various voltages as needed for CNC equipment.
*Design and implement new hydraulic and pneumatic systems as required.
*Proficiency in Fanuc robots a plus
*Proficiency in simple fabrication and welding applications
*Ability to identify, develop and perform required daily/weekly/monthly/semi-annual and annual maintenance on all CNC equipment.


Key Competencies
*An onsite industrial manufacturing position, with exposure to noise, heat, cold, fumes, and chemicals.
*Ability to lift a maximum of 50 lbs.
*Ability to knee, bend, climb a ladder, and work in restricted spaces, walk and stand for long periods of time.
*Ability to work in high elevations, i.e., scissor lift.

We proudly partner with District No. 8 of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers with a closed shop, which means that all hourly employees are union members.

New employees are regarded as probationary for the first 60 working days of their employment.
After probation, the employee will join the union with an initiation fee and monthly dues.
