Job title: Medical Writer III
Location: 100% Remote
Duration: 12 Months
Summary:
THE ROLE
We're looking for a Medical Writer who lives and breathes medical aesthetics to join a newly formed in-house Curricula team under AMI.
In this role, you will be writing clinical educational materials and presentations for the next generation of our AMI offerings across live and virtual training programs. Reporting into the Associate Director, AMI Curricula, you will work alongside creatives and curricula experts to bring clinical education to life, keeping in mind adult learning principles. This contractor role is responsible for assisting in the development of curricula across Medical Institute educational programs, primarily writing and referencing content for our facial injectables medical education.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned.):
* Technical writing for medical aesthetics training content including presentations, learning module scripts, classroom materials, etc
* Review relevant medical literature and reference materials to fact check information and stay current on latest trends
* Synthesize complex topics into digestible educational content, adhering to adult learning principles
* Ensure content adheres to creative and curricula briefs, brand guidelines, and MLRC review guidelines
* Support with Medical, Legal, Regulatory, and Compliance review systems and processes, ensuring accuracy of copy
* Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree is required.
* Minimum of 5 years related experience is preferred.
* 1-2 years in a Medical Education role is favorable.
* Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and professionally.
* Knowledge of FDA and regulatory statutes as applied to products, with the ability to function in an environment controlled by outside regulatory entities.
* High degree of flexibility in adapting to a rapidly changing environment.
* Occasional flexibility in work hours, including weekends, may be required.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Additional Requirements:
* Responsible for performing all duties in compliance with FDA's Quality System Regulation (QSR), ISO13485, the Canadian Medical Device Regulations, and all other international regulatory requirements with which complies.

Language and Verbal Skills:
Individual must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and a demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and professionally.

Analytical and Reading Skills:
Ability to read, understand and abide by company procedures. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions and report on findings.

Spotlight Call Notes:
Technical Medical Writer
who would be drafting medical education content, if you could find an actual Aesthetic provider, RN Nurse, Practitioner, background in writing medical education information.
Science heavy content. Written content for a hospital, clinic, etc.
Five years' experience in the field
Fact checking, pulling it into writing, video scripts for learning modules - all different kinds of educational content.
Working closely with curricula team
We're responsible for medical education across the board.
Injectable and skin medica, cool-sculpting/tone - anyone with expertise using/knowing these brands would be a plus
Regulatory, compliance teams and working with them in written material.

BA required; PA or MA great but not required.
Must be skilled in written material.
Will want to see portfolios/educational portfolio - not looking for clinical/scientific writing, looking for someone who has educational specific background and experience.

Needs specific educational writing experience
How important is fact-checking experience - a nice to have or must have - this is a MUST have, should be doing this if they are in any sort of technical writing roles.
Any specific therapeutic experience you want the candidate to have - injectable experience, general aesthetics space, skincare, if they haven't done educational within aesthetics but has in medical in general, this is good enough.
