About VEIR
Giving everyone in the world access to clean, reliable, affordable energy will require substantial expansion of global electricity transmission networks. VEIR is developing a new generation of High Temperature Superconductor (HTS)-based transmission lines, enabling long distance, reliable, low loss, cost-effective power transfer in far smaller right-of-ways. VEIR's innovations overcome the main barriers to transmission expansion, enabling the world to access the very lowest cost renewable power.

The Role
VEIR isseeking a passionate and experienced Finance Manager to join our growing team and play a pivotal role in our financial success. This position offers the opportunity to be at forefront of the energy industry, build robust financial systems, and directly impact the company's trajectory.

This is an exciting opportunity with a lot of growth potential at a dynamic startup driving global decarbonatization and grid resilience. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in financial modeling and is ready to step into an influential role, interfacing with senior leaders and investors as VEIR completes its Series B financing and prepares for scale.

This position will be based at VEIR's headquarters in Woburn, MA, and report directly to the CFO.

In the first three months you will...
  • Develop strong working relationships across the organization and quickly build trust and credibility with VEIR leadership and other critical internal stakeholders, including Commercial and Engineering
  • Refine and manage the company corporate financial model to drive key business decisions
  • With the CFO, establish systems and prepare for the annual budgeting process
  • Support due diligence processes during fundraising rounds, providing necessary information and documentation
In your first six months you will...
  • Lead the annual budget process resulting in board approved 2025 corporate budget
  • Work with the Controller and CFO to select and implement required software solutions (ERP, forecasting)
  • Create and present key financial dashboards to the CEO and Board, clearly communicating financial performance and trends
By the end of the first year you will...
  • Develop accurate and insightful financial forecasts for various scenarios, providing valuable insights to the leadership team
  • Identify capital strategy plan inclusive of equity and non-dilutive sources of capital
  • In collaboration with the CFO and Head of Operations, develop and implement an inventory control process
  • Implement cost control processes and margin improvement strategies
  • Collaborate with the commercial and engineering teams to design, troubleshoot, and build scalable processes
  • Provide strategic support to key business initiatives and investment
To be successful in this role...
  • You have at least five years of professional experience with increasing responsibility
  • You are highly skilled in financial modeling and financial analysis, and you can leverage those skills to anticipate the business and finance needs that will drive successful company strategy
  • You know how to align strategy with execution, and you have demonstrated success executing with strong attention to detail
  • You are a creative and entrepreneurial minded professional that enjoys building new systems and processes
  • You are driven by results - you gauge your success in measurable positive impact (not in how much you check off the to do list) and know how to ruthlessly prioritize
  • You have excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills across all levels of staff and with external stakeholders
  • You thrive on effectively managing multiple projects with competing priorities that require making decisions under pressure and working under tight deadlines
  • You are highly curious and solutions-oriented, and excel at deconstructing complex problems into manageable components to develop effective solutions
  • You are highly motivated, self-starter who loves solving energetic, mature, and detail-oriented with a positive approach to problem solving
