Join Our Team as an Occupational Health Nurse-Contingent!

Are you passionate about Health Services? S&C Electric Company is seeking a dynamic individual to coordinate our Occupational Health Nurse function. As an Occupational Health Nurse-Contingent, you'll be crucial in ensuring smooth operations and supporting our diverse team. S&C Health Services maintains a modern Occupational Health Clinic as part of the Health, Safety & Environmental Services Organization to support team member's health, safety and wellness efforts. The clinic also provides administrative support and is staffed by Occupational Health Nurses, a Sr. Health Services Administrator, and the Manager-Health Services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Performing initial assessment of employee complaints/symptoms as they may relate to personal or work-related injuries/illnesses and determining proper case management consistent with applicable personal health or Workers' Compensation case management protocols.
  • Responding to medical emergencies and render appropriate levels of care within the nurse's scope of practice and S&C's expectations.
  • Medical case management of the company's Short-Term Disability Pay, Workers' Compensation, FMLA and ADA requirements.
  • Facilitating the company's medical surveillance programs including hearing conservation and respirator programs.
  • Assisting in the development and implementation of health and wellness disease management clinic initiatives.
  • Assisting in and/or determining OSHA recordability of work-related injuries/illnesses.
  • Assisting with Non-Occupational and Occupational decisions related to injury/illnesses.
  • Maintain the OSHA 300 Log.
  • Performing on-site job analysis when necessary (e.g. Transitional Return-to-Work assignments).
  • Providing basic services as a team member within all areas of Health Services' responsibilities.
  • Familiar with office and manufacturing ergonomics, applications, and principles.
  • Core working hours may be from 7:00AM - 3:30PM or 9:30AM - 6:00PM, Monday through Friday.

What you'll Need To Succeed:

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing and Certification Occupational Health Nursing; Master's degree preferred.
  • Case Management Audiology Technician Pulmonary Function Technician (preferred).
  • Current CPR Certification.
  • Experience with emergency response and clinical assessment.
  • Intermediate to advanced PC skills using Microsoft Office and other Electronic Medical Records (EMR) programs.
  • Good verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Five years Certified Occupational Health Nursing.
  • Five years Manufacturing / Production facility / Onsite Clinic
