The Senior Cash Operations Specialist is a key member of the Food and Nutrition Team and has shared accountability for the success of the function.
The Specialist, under general supervision, performs various administrative, cash handling, and customer service duties. This includes but is not limited to managing department cash, credit card, and payroll deduct transactions including retail operations sales, change orders, and deposits. Monitors department financial performance and applies budget policies and procedures to prepare the bi-weekly and month end reports. Coordinates new employees onboarding, generates resident meal tickets, answers telephone, orders supplies, and other duties as requested. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
Essential Functions:
Cash Operations
Responsible for cash deposits, reconciling credit card and payroll deduct transactions, change order requests and cashier checkouts. Complete daily deposits for retail operations. Ensures reports are accurate, safe balance is correct, and drawers are counted down at the end of each day. Keep monetary/financial records of overages and/or shortages. Contact for technical support related to cash register, credit card, and point of sale system issues and upgrades. Provides coverage as needed, which includes but not limited to retail, catering, special events and cashiering coverage.
Accounting Operations
Prepares vouchers and invoices for accounts payable and /or receivables. Compiles information and processes invoices, interdepartmental transfers (IDTs) and requisitions. Computes charges and fees as required. Uses manual and automated methods to prepare regularly scheduled or special reports to include the distribution of monthly/weekly/quarterly report data. Maintains a rapport with Accounts Payable, Purchasing and Finance on payments made to the vendors. Collect meal tickets, organize resident meal allotments, complete resident cards for residents across Denver Health campus each semester.
Employee Onboarding
Assists in onboarding and orientation of new employees and manages and ensures completeness of employee internal personnel and medical files for department use and regulatory compliance. Assists Managers and Supervisors with resolving day-to-day employee related concerns and questions.
Data Analysis and Reporting
Assists in collecting, organizing and managing data for department QA initiatives and creates monthly reports. Supports department and organizational goals, visual management board and quality assurance initiatives. This may involve assisting in developing project plans, monitoring progress toward on-time completion, and preparing standard and ad hoc reports.
Office Management
Answer telephone calls in the main office, assist customers, patients and employees with concerns. Arranges meetings and conferences and reserves conference rooms.
