Pay Grade/Pay Range: Minimum: $15.00 - Midpoint: $17.26 (Hourly N1)

Department/Organization: 504103 - Grounds

Normal Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 6:00am to 2:30pm

Job Summary: The Groundskeeper provides basic labor for landscape and flower installation and maintenance. Works outdoors in all types of weather. Drives University vehicles such as trucks, golf carts, mowers, and tractors from site-to-site.

Required Minimum Qualifications: Must be able to read, write, and follow verbal and written instructions.

Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Must be able to work overtime, sometimes on short notice. Will often require long days, on your feet, standing, walking, lifting, and carrying. Over 8-hour days may be required based on the condition of the grounds and campus event schedules. Will require work in all climates of weather, hot, cold, rain, etc. depending on the season. Will require work at a series of assigned locations for job related activities, including football games. Must accomplish the essential functions, with or without reasonable accommodations, in a timely manner, along with performing other job duties relating to job assignments and meet regular attendance requirements. Must leave the work site clean and orderly, ensure all tools and equipment are cleaned, and materials are secured.

Must have a valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with university policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.

Final candidates who are not current University of Alabama employees must submit to and successfully pass a post-offer drug screen.
