I. Position Summary:

Provides a variety of duties involving maintenance of outside grounds, moving, storing of supplies and equipment and transporting medical records and/or sterile processing equipment between campuses.

II. Major Responsibilities:

Mows lawns, trims shrubbery, waters lawns, rakes, collects and disposes of leaves and litter, maintains parking lots, and removes snow and ice. Transports medical records and/or sterile processing equipment between campuses as directed. Inspects, maintains and operates power equipment such as lawn mowers and snow blowers as directed. Uses motor vehicles, such as front end loaders, dump trucks, and plows in completing tasks. Performs minor construction projects on sidewalks and steps as well as performing preventative maintenance. Moves furniture and related items and materials as required ensuring adequate and safe storage of equipment, supplies, records, furniture and related items as required. Makes visual inspections of campus grounds and parking areas and informs supervisor of those areas needed maintenance.

III. Position Qualifications:

License/Certification/Education:

Required:

Must have a valid Massachusetts driver license (minimum Class D rating).

Preferred:

A valid Massachusetts Hoisting Engineer License (minimum Class 2A rating) preferred

Experience/Skills:

Required:

Minimum of three months related experience required. Must be able to work independently and complete tasks as assigned. Must be able to work flexible shifts as needed to provide a safe work environment for patients, employees and visitors (i.e. snow removal). Must be able to lift 50 pounds as needed. Must be able to learn preventive maintenance on small power equipment (ie. Snowblowers/lawnmowers).
