Summary

The teammate is primarily responsible for supporting the functions of the Credit Department, including testing of borrower covenants, preparing financial spreads, and analyzing the financial information and cash flow of existing and potential consumer and commercial borrowers for the purpose of approving or denying ACH and loan requests. The teammate is expected to act in a professional manner and within the accepted standards and practices of the industry, as well as within the Bank's Culture of Excellence.

Essential Functions

  • Work with Treasury Management Department to prepare ACH requests and renewals. Communicate and coordinate with the Treasury Management Officer, Loan Officer and/or Client Support Manager to obtain necessary financial information regarding the borrower
  • Prepare Deposit Hold requests and renewals as needed.
  • On a daily, weekly, monthly and/or quarterly basis, update and maintain the following reports:
    • Home Equity Lines of Credit Key Metric Report (contains key metrics on all newly processed HELOCs)
    • Daily & Weekly PALOC Report
    • Amateur Real Estate Report
    • Supervisory Loan to Value Reports
    • Private Banking High Loan to Value Report
    • Participation Report
    • Unused Line Report
    • Letter of Credit Report
  • Convert prospective and current borrower financial statements into a common size spreadsheet utilizing financial spreading software as directed by Credit Manager, Credit Analysts, or Lending Teams.
  • Manage and maintain existing financial statement spreading software by serving as primary Administrator, performing system updates as needed.
  • Test borrower financial covenants as directed by Credit Manager or Credit Analysts.
  • Process requests for Background Checks when requested by Credit Team.
  • Preform pre- and post-quality control review of imaged documents.

Secondary Functions

The following identifies duties that can be performed after primary duties as outlined above are completed.

  • Serve as backup for Credit Operations Specialist as needed by updating borrower financial statement requirements and covenant requirements in Exception Complete, and by preparing items for imaging into Synergy
  • Serve as backup as needed to prepare, process, and distribute weekly Loan Committee loan packet.
  • As directed by the Credit Manager, analyze the financial condition and cash flow of consumer and commercial borrowers; analysis to include financial ratio trend analysis, analysis of balance sheet and income statement trends, guarantor analysis, and collateral analysis
  • Ensure Bank's loan policies are being followed, citing exceptions where needed in Credit Analysis Memos
  • Maintain expertise in new and changing bank underwriting policies and regulatory guidelines


Required Education, Experience and Skills

  • College degree in accounting, finance, or business; minimum of 6 hours of college-level financial accounting coursework preferred
  • Banking experience preferred but not required
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to think critically, make well-reasoned conclusions and solve problems
  • Strong initiative and ability to manage multiple tasks, organizing and prioritizing tasks as appropriate; ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • High level computer proficiency, including experience with and strong working knowledge of standard computer applications (especially Word, Excel, Outlook and Adobe Acrobat)
  • Proven interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal), with strong emphasis placed on responsiveness and customer service
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse individuals and work styles, including lending staff
