  • Salary Range: $42,100 to $43,000
The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Position Summary

The (grant-funded) Research Assistant (one year) within the Chemical Engineering Department laboratory will ensure participant compliance with study procedures. Under the direction of the PI and Program Coordinator, this role will perform research-related administrative support tasks, including research data entry, data cleaning, and coding.

Responsibilities

  • Research Support (75%)

    Assist with the setup, operation, and maintenance of laboratory equipment and multi-phase flow systems.

    Coordinate the ordering of supplies, materials, and other necessary items for the lab.

    Perform a variety of miscellaneous tasks, duties, and responsibilities to support the overall research efforts.

  • Project Management (20%)

    Collaborate with PhD students and postdoctoral researchers to run multiple projects in parallel.

    Maintain a clear, organized, and up-to-date laboratory notebook documenting research activities.

    Interact effectively with the PI, Program Coordinator, and other lab personnel.

  • Other Duties (5%)

    Assist with additional related duties and special projects as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related scientific field.

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience working in a research environment.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Excellent attention to detail and data entry accuracy.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative research team.

  • Proficient in the use of standard laboratory equipment and data management software.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience supporting research projects in a university or industry setting.
  • Familiarity with chemical engineering laboratory protocols and procedures.
  • Working knowledge of data analysis and visualization tools.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
