Position Summary:

The ideal Director of FP&A will be a hard-working and motivated individual with a strong analytical and problem-solving background to complement our growing FP&A team. The primary focus of the Director of FP&A is to partner with business leaders across the organization to analyze business performance and provide actionable insights to help drive organizational strategy. This role is expected to be a strategic partner that supports decision-making at the executive management, business unit management, and cost center management level. The Director of FP&A will have two direct reports, and a total organization of six individuals, and will be responsible for day to day oversight along with staff development. In addition, the Director of FP&A will be responsible for sales forecast consolidation, assisting with guidance setting, and other routine FP&A activities.

Essential Functions:

  • Provides support for annual Business Plan process, including:
    • Overseeing overall delivery list
    • Working with other members of the FP&A team to ensure inputs and Business Unit level budgets are received timely
    • Presenting to company leadership on overall Annual budget, and preparing presentation materials for the Board of Directors
  • Oversees and develops monthly reporting
  • Reviews monthly financial distributions for accuracy and completeness, and relevance of all commentary
  • Supports other members of the team in developing operationally focused material for monthly reporting (e.g., variance analysis, freight reporting, functional spending changes)
  • Establishes financial processes, and evaluates savings opportunities
  • Evaluates business changes presented by Business Unit leaders to determine Discounted Cash Flow, Return on Invested Capital, Cash outlay requirements, and anticipated Internal Rate of Return based on models created, advises leaders from a Finance perspective on the viability and profitability of proposed investments
  • Supports senior leadership in Financial Statement Analysis by responding to inquiry on summary financials, assembles detailed analysis of journal entry and vendor detail, and coordinates with various stakeholders to evaluate business trends that impact total company financial performance
  • Reviews Capital Expenditure plans to validate that proposed expenditures align with total company targets
  • Partners with the business to determine if savings opportunities exist and leads efforts to negotiate more favorable terms
  • Directly oversees weekly sales flash forecasting process, works with sales leaders and FP&A personnel in other areas to develop predictive models and supports commentary
  • Leads the preparation of monthly executive management and quarterly Board of Director presentation decks for both actual and forecast results
  • Leads the development of annual budget and monthly forecasts, including sharing in preparation work for commentary on overall budget, consolidation of BU level forecasts, and preparing Board of Director materials for annual budget readouts
  • Assists in driving operational improvements and supports high visibility projects as needed
  • Proactively challenges the status quo and investigates issues independently and as a team
  • Performs all tasks with an emphasis on developing automation and efficiency

  • Ensures Compliance with applicable governmental laws, rules, and regulations, both in the United States and internationally, by completing introductory and annual training and maintaining knowledge of compliance as it applies to your role

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field and minimum 10 years of relevant experience, and at least 5 years of people management experience.
  • Ability to present financial information to a non-financial audience.
  • Deep knowledge of financial strategies.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Detail-oriented and able to perform in a high-pressure environment.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-starter
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office products
  • Working knowledge of OneStream XF Platform, a plus
