JOB: The Bank of New York Mellon seeks a Specialist, Metrics and Analytics in New York, NY to define, create, and maintain a meaningful set of metrics and analyze business intelligence data to inform business and product decisions. Establishes relationships to obtain data needed for metrics and blends historical data from available industry reports, public information, field reports or purchased sources as input to analyses. Identifies and contacts appropriate managers and professionals to gather necessary information to be added to central reporting database. Identifies and analyzes industry/geographic trends and competitor market strategies and monitoring current/potential customer trends. Analyze business intelligence data to inform business and product decisions. Conducts studies to provide additional facts needed to make informed decisions with regard to organizational and functional effectiveness measurements. Communicates effectively with technical and business staff. Develops reports, and prepares and delivers both informational and decision-seeking presentations. Identify and analyze industry/geographic trends and competitor market strategies and monitoring current/potential customer trends. Stays abreast of organization and management changes and has advanced knowledge of company practices relevant to measurements. Utilizes historical data from available industry reports, public reports, and field reports as input to analyze. Maintains knowledge of company's total computing environment and planned changes in order to develop meaningful measurements. Monitors industry and marketplace technology practices and benchmarks related to CTS. Stays abreast of technology innovations and trends. May recommend areas for improvement. Collaborates with and supports leaders and their teams from an area of expertise to ensure strategies and measurements are aligned and support business and operating results. Collaborates with areas of business, including marketing, logistics, and customer service, to model the outcome of implementing potential business strategies.

SALARY AND WORK SCHEDULE: $124,753.00 to $203,000.00 per year and 40 hours/week

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Engineering (any), Information Systems, Information Technology, or a related field, and six (6) years of experience in the job offered or in a related occupation. Six (6) years of experience must include: Providing collaborative support to Audit leaders and their teams by leveraging analytical expertise to ensure alignment of strategies and measurements with Internal Audit goals, while simultaneously managing data analysts through the briefing of business requirements, allocation, and validation of work, and ensuring that the data solution aligns with project objective and stakeholder expectations; Defining, creating, and maintaining meaningful set of metrics by integrating advanced analytics concepts within the financial services industry during the audit process using tools like MS Excel, Tableau, Python and SQL; Building and troubleshooting software bots designed in UiPath to automate testing processes that are recurring, complex and require customization interacting with various desktop/web elements; Developing reusable scripts using Python to scrape financial data from unstructured PDF reports and preparing the data for potential testing and investigation; Executing intricate reconciliation tasks by performing data cleaning, transformation, and parsing data using metadata documents originating from numerous mainframe/database systems like DB2, Oracle and Vertica; and Automating processes like IT General Controls testing, Credit Risk Review Process and Electronic Payments Monitoring by creating test scripts and implementing them using tools like SQL, while visualizing the results on a Tableau dashboard for efficient analysis of high-risk areas and recommending remediation actions. BNY Mellon assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary/range for this position is expected to be $124,753.00 to $203,000.00 per year at the commencement of employment. Base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNYM total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.

This position is at-will, and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
