Job Overview

We are currently looking for a Tax Analyst II to join our team in Holland, MI. The position will be eligible for a flexible work schedule which allows for work from home 1 or 2 days a week.

As a Tax Analyst II, you will:

Be responsible for all tax matters in designated states, including income tax and/or sales/use tax compliance, and planning and management of state tax examinations. Prepares assigned federal income tax returns and assists with Internal Revenue Services (IRS) examinations. Researches and assists with resolution of tax issues.

Do you have these required qualifications?
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent.
  • Three years of tax or accounting experience, including two years of income tax experience.
  • Ability to work in the U.S.without sponsorship.
  • Ability to work in Holland, MI without relocation assistance.
Do you have these preferred qualifications?
  • Master's degree with specialization in taxation.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification.
  • Strong working knowledge of state and federal tax laws.
Job Responsibilities and Duties

To include the following but are not limited to:

  • Prepares assigned (i.e., United States [US], Canadian) income tax returns to ensure timelycompliance with applicable tax laws. Provides assistance to support preparation of otherreturns as assigned.
  • Prepares state income tax returns and estimates for designated states to ensure timelycompliance with applicable tax laws. Maintains assigned state income tax apportionmentrecords.
  • Assists with year-end tax work, including tax accruals and provisions to ensure appropriateaccounting for income taxes in audited financial statements.
  • Researches and analyzes data for various department projects; recommends actions basedupon research to ensure compliance with tax laws and optimize taxes.
  • Prepares tax reports and registrations for various taxing authorities of designated states toensure compliance with tax laws.
  • Coordinates or assists with tax examinations, researches issues raised, and providessupporting data and responses to authorities to minimize exposure and ensure appropriateresolution of issues.
  • Assists with or adapts Haworth systems for implications of tax requirements.
Ideally, you have also demonstrated the following:
  • Excellent communication, organization, and analytical skills required.
  • PC and keyboard/mouse skills required.
