Job Description-Principal Faculty
Position Overview:
The Clinical Assistant Professor of Physician Assistant Studies will play an integral role in development, execution, and evaluation of the program curriculum and administrative aspects. Duties include course design, laboratory design, instruction, data collection for accreditation, committee assignment, and community outreach. This is a full-time principal faculty position on a team of medical providers and educators working to continue the development of the program in order to achieve Accreditation-Continued status and maintain good standing with all monitoring bodies. Time of instruction totals an equivalent of 6 credit hours total for each semester. Faculty in this position is also expected to coordinate with other principal faculty in course development and instruction, evaluation by students, and meeting accreditation Standards. This position will primarily be involved in co-instruction of the Clinical Medicine course series as well as a Behavioral Medicine course and a Community Health course. Additional supportive instruction in other courses is expected of all faculty.
This position reports directly to the Physician Assistant Program Director.
Responsibilities:
The primary responsibilities of this position are to manage and coordinate various aspects of program education to include:
This position will work closely with all course directors to ensure synchronous instruction with the didactic courses, as well as collaborating with the Clinical Education Coordinator to ensure appropriate skills are taught to prepare students for their clinical phase of training.
This faculty position will also be required to participate in a variety of service responsibilities including:
Faculty member is entitled to (encouraged) up to 20% release time per week to maintain PA skills through clinical employment. Faculty in this position will also be required to provide evidence of acceptable scholarly and service activity. This may vary based on faculty academic rank and professional track but should include areas such as evidence of application of clinical practice to classroom instruction, conducting and reporting on research as appropriate to promotional track, presenting scholarly work, and involving graduate students in activities that develop research skills and lead to presentations and publications. Detailed guidance on faculty requirements for teaching, scholarship, and service based on rank/promotion can be found in the program faculty handbook which will be provided at time of hire or upon request.

Compensation and Benefits:
Salary: $90,000.00 - $100,000.00 annually
Please note that the compensation information is a good faith estimate of the base pay for this position. The selected candidate's actual base pay will be based on job-related, non-discriminatory factors including experience. Information about the total compensation package for this position will be provided during the interview process.
This is a full-time, 12-month position. Benefits are available the first of the month after the full-time employee's date of hire and include - health, dental and vision insurance, life and long term disability insurance, and retirement plan enrollment is available to full-time employees with contribution from the University after one year. Tuition benefits are also available for full-time employees and their qualified dependents.
