Overview

As a Compliance Officer on our Bank Holding Company Compliance team, you will support US bank regulatory compliance programs, primarily the Regulation W program for affiliate transactions and a policy initiative to implement new global requirements. Your responsibilities will also comprise of daily/monthly/quarterly program deliverables and monitoring for compliance and controls with various regulations, notably those pertaining to affiliate transactions, risk forum reporting and continued program oversight for avoidance of regulatory findings. Additional remit will include drafting and reviewing Compliance issued policies and procedures, liaising with stakeholders across 1st and 2nd Line of Defense functions to address policy and program requirements, and assisting with cross-divisional regulatory risk management and enhancement programs, as needed. There will be shared responsibilities and resiliency / backup with other staff of the Bank Holding Company Compliance team. Your ability to exercise good judgment while balancing risk management and managing both long term deliverables and short-term demands will be a key attribute for this position.

What You'll Do

  • Review, make updates to, and draft Compliance-issued policies and procedures

  • Assist in assessing implementation of Compliance policy requirements by business and infrastructure divisions and assist in the development of related remediation action plans

  • Engage with business and infrastructure staff to assist with the evaluation, documentation, and improvement of end-to-end control processes for regulatory compliance

  • Assist with the development and oversight of the implementation of appropriate control monitoring requirements; perform monitoring for various compliance programs

  • Support the development of related online and instructor-led trainings as needed and perform quality assurance reviews of compliance risk assessments as needed

  • Assist in responding to requests from Controls Testing and Assurance, Group Audit, and regulators and with the development and delivery of reporting and decks for committees/councils, Boards, and regulators

Skills You'll Need

  • University degree required, preferably in Finance, Accounting, Risk Management

  • JD or another advanced degree preferred

  • Experience and/or understanding of a large organization working across multiple locations, business divisions and legal entities as well as relevant compliance experience, preferably at a major national or global firm, regulator, or relevant business experience

  • Experience working in Compliance, or a similar financial services risk management function a strong plus

  • Ability to work independently, adapt and suggest changes in a dynamic framework balanced with communication and collaboration with impacted groups

Skills That Will Help You Excel

  • Excellent communication and writing skills with a particular focus on development and review of procedures; a solution-oriented attitude with an eye on opportunities for process improvements; the ability to present issues to Senior Management timely and effectively with a strong attention to detail

  • Highly motivated and proactive with the ability to work under pressure and be resilient in a dynamic environment

  • Must evidence and practice effective organizational skills and be highly flexible, multi-task oriented and capable of changing directions as needed

  • Proficiency with Word and documents such as policies, data analysis/Excel and presentation/PowerPoint is an expectation, with an aptitude for learning a variety of systems

  • Desire to learn and understand regulations governing financial institutions including the rules and regulations of the FRB, OCC, FDIC, and CFPB

Expectations

It is the Bank's expectation that employees hired into this role will work in the Jacksonville, FL office in accordance with the Bank's hybrid working model.

The salary range for this position in Jacksonville is $60,000 to $86,000.Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's skill set, experience, education, work location and other qualifications. Posted salary ranges do not include incentive compensation or any other type of remuneration.
