Job Description


The Proposal Manager will be responsible for delivery proposals and contracts. The person in this role will need to understand client requirements, manage proposals, and communicate up to the final submission.

Responsibilities:

  • Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and technical-writing procedures.
  • Ability to organize well, adhere to schedules/deadlines, and handle pressure while multitasking.
  • Ability to work with disparate corporate and client staff from multiple disciplines (e.g., technical, managerial)
  • Work with internal teams to obtain an in-depth understanding of services
  • Produce high-quality documentation that meets applicable standards and is appropriate for its intended audience
  • Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include, but are not limited to, management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors
  • Research, compile, write, and edit proposal material that includes project summaries, project personnel resumes and biographies, and technical narratives
  • Ability to understand technical information required in client requests for information and proposals and produce compliant text in response to those requests
  • Review and analyze proposal sections for consistency and clarity, compliance with solicitation requirements, and alignment with proposed solutions and themes
  • Develop content as necessary to deliver high-quality, winning proposals
  • Participate in selecting and recommend appropriate projects and personnel for inclusion in the submission
  • Proofread, edit, and standardize proposal content for proper grammar, spelling, comprehension, and style
  • Manage and lead proposal effort, including layout, organization, data collection and integration, as well as final submission
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher, or equivalent work experience in relevant field/ drafting/modeling preferred
  • 5+ years of experience managing proposals in engineering/infrastructure (marine construction preferred)
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly excellent work processing skills using Microsoft Word
  • Ability to quickly grasp complex technical and business concepts and express them in clear language
  • Demonstrated ability to actively listen to all stakeholders
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills, must be proficient, persuasive writer, positioning our offering in the most effective manner possible
  • Experience in all areas of proposal management, including:
  • Developing agendas and leading meetings
  • Proposal strategy and messaging
  • Managing writers and writing assignments
  • Managing graphics/graphic designers
  • Developing presentations and preparing presenters
  • Detail and deadline driven
