The Opportunity:The HR Coordinator is responsible for providing day-to-day support to the Pennsylvania Distribution Center (PADC) HR and Operations team. This includes responding to employee questions, resolving issues, HR Systems employee life cycle data entry, providing HR reporting, dashboard generation, basic analytics, and general support to the PADC HR team.

What Your Impact Will Be:

  • Onboarding: Oversee end-to-end onboarding process for new hires and internal conversions; presenting onboarding content to large groups, educating new hires on Mattel Employee Handbook, general policies, benefits, Leadership Behaviors, and company culture, create employee files, I-9 Verification, badges, warehouse tours, compliance training, and providing technical assistance as needed.
  • Offboarding: Conduct Exit Interviews, prepare termination documentation, update employment status in HRIS, collect company property (badge, credit cards, IT equipment, etc.),
  • HRIS (Workday): Auditing employee data and updating confidential employee information.
  • Engagement: Organize employee engagement initiatives for both hourly and salary employees to amplify Mattel's company culture; draft and create engagement calendar; including but not limited to: holiday events, team bonding and outings.
  • Company Leaves & Benefits: Assist employees with all leave requests; address employee inquires related to company leaves and benefits, partner with Benefits Department; oversee leave administration as needed.
  • Workers Compensation: Process workers compensation claims, review incident reports, partner with Safety and Operations to identify accident causes, file and track medical documentation and doctor's visits; Assist Operations and injure employees with Nurse Hotline communication; Partner with HR Manager on restrictions as needed.
  • Communication: Manage communication to all PADC employees via monitors, Employee Roundtables emails, and Text-Em-All; coordinate Town Halls and review presentation slides as needed; translating employee communications from English to Spanish.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for HR-related questions and concerns for PADC operations leaders and employees both in-person and via email; escalating complex matters to HR Manager as needed.
  • Manage sensitivity and confidential matters including employee relations, organization changes, and protects the security of information, data and files.
  • Maintain a continuous improvement mindset by recommending new approaches, modifications and/or changes that will improve the PADC HR Team and PADC as a whole.
  • Ensure compliance and integrity of all HR systems data through various audit processes in cooperation with Mattel Global Shared Services, Compensation/Benefits & HRIS and time and attendance.
  • Maintain current knowledge of Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and affirmative action guidelines and laws, such as the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
  • Other special projects and duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • Bilingual (Spanish) - required; must have ability to translate documentation and present in Spanish.
  • Minimum 3 years of recent experience as an HR Coordinator supporting large employee groups; experience working in a distribution center preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong analytic, organizational, and problem-solving capability
  • Proven ability to improve and recommend digital solutions to manual processes.
  • Ability to multi-task and self-manage/prioritize in a busy environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills with employees
  • Exceptional detail orientation and organization skills (with strong sense of urgency and follow up/follow through)
  • Strong, clear, and professional written and verbal communication skills - English and Spanish.
  • Ability to actively listen and accurately interpret directions and instructions.
  • Ability to think and illustrate 'big picture' focus as well as make sure the details are executed flawlessly.
  • Ability to attend work regularly and on a timely manner.
  • Maintains composure in highly stressful or adverse situations; ability to adapt effectively to change.

  • Experience working with HCM systems; PeopleSoft and/or Workday preferred.
