The Control Room Supervisor is responsible for providing direct supervision of staff, making decisions in time sensitive situations, and ensuring effective coordinating with stakeholders. TOC Supervisors are charged to ensure all business functions are met, provide coaching and performance monitoring of staff, and communicate needs to the program management team.

What you will be doing:

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Trained and experienced in TOC Operations, with minimum service tenure per the Training and Certification Plan
  • Ability to perform all TOC Operator duties and effectively communicate operational concepts
  • Ability to lead a small team and effectively prioritize tasks
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Proficient written and verbal communication skill in English language with full comprehension capability
  • Ability to work as essential personnel during special and emergency operations need (i.e., severe weather, pandemic, special event, increased operations demand)
  • Scheduling flexibility with willingness to work any shift or schedule rotation as assigned
  • Ability to perform and maintain a professional and courteous demeanor under pressure
  • Aptitude for geography and interpreting maps

What you need to be successful in this role:

  • Demonstrate leadership among operations team, supporting the growth and development of TOC Operators
  • Responsible for readiness of assigned personnel and equipment
  • Responsible for safety and performance of assigned personnel
  • Ensure adequate shift manning per identified shift conditions, i.e., weather, operational tempo, and special events
  • Assist the Operations Manager in assessing and ensuring proficiency of personnel to established standards
  • Maintain situational awareness of traffic operations throughout the assigned region through efficient use of Traffic Management System tools
  • Responsible for team's appropriate response(s) to detected and/or reported incidents
  • Generate, receive, and respond to calls pertaining to various persons/organizations/agencies
  • Support Emergency Operations such as severe weather
  • Oversee daily construction/roadwork performed by the DOT and contractors using available systems.
  • Perform regular audits of incidents
  • Ensure proper time keeping of assigned staff
  • Assist Operations Manager with staff evaluations/ performance reviews
  • Ensure team adherence to policies, standard operations procedures, and guidelines
  • Assist with ensuring all personnel receive proper training
  • Direct shift operations in support of special events
  • Provide and ensure participation of daily "shift briefings" to exchange information on current incident status, weather, notifications, and other system info prior to the previous shifts departure
  • Coordinate team's participation in regional TIM efforts
  • Oversee training of assigned staff on SOP's, policies, and Traffic Management Systems
  • Perform all duties at the highest level of customer service, meeting or exceeding expectations and performance measures

Iteris anticipates paying between $21.00 and $25.00 for this role. However, actual pay offered may vary depending on job related knowledge, skills, and experience.
