Interim Corp. FP&A Manager


Our client, a software development company, is looking for an Interim Corp. FP&A Manager to support their team in a variety of responsibilities while they identify a permanent hire.


This opportunity is in a hybrid capacity, 2 days/week (Mon-Thu) at their office in San Jose, CA. This role will have a duration of 3-6 months with the possibility of conversion.
This position will report to the Senior Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Corp Financial Planning & Analysis Manager sets the direction and develops strategies for worldwide financial planning. The FPA function is responsible for budgeting, planning, forecasting, financial analyses; financial performance reporting, business plan evaluation and ad-hoc requirements of top-level executives. You will play a critical role in understanding and managing the General and Administrative Expenses (G&A) aspects of the organization. You'll be responsible for handling ad hoc projects, engaging in classic forecasting, month-to-month (MTM) analysis, and budgeting. Additionally, you'll track key performance indicators (KPIs) and utilize tools such as Oracle and Adaptive Insights.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • G&A Management: Understand and manage the G&A expenses, ensuring efficient allocation of resources.
  • Ad Hoc Projects: Handle special projects related to financial analysis and reporting.
  • Forecasting and Budgeting: Engage in forecasting and budgeting processes using Adaptive Insights.
  • KPI Tracking: Monitor and analyze key performance indicators to drive informed decision-making.
  • System Utilization: Leverage Adaptive Insights and recently implemented Tableau for data visualization.
  • Day-to-Day Operations: Support the business by managing day-to-day G&A activities.
  • Variance Analysis: Help stakeholders understand financial capabilities through variance analysis.


ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead the strategic long-term planning, financial budgeting, forecasting and monthly operations processes
  • Continually refine planning models to appropriately reflect the key variables in the business
  • Consolidate and analyze the annual budget and long-range financial plans
  • Coordination across functions worldwide to ensure process deliverables and deadlines are met completely and accurately
  • Develop in-depth financial analysis for trends in revenue, cost, inventory, pricing, cash flow and profitability across markets. Develop and implement management dashboard reports. Ad-hoc requests should be met promptly with clear and concise analysis
  • Report to management on results of operations against budget and forecast. Demonstrate a clear and well thought out concepts in formal presentations, team discussions and written analysis
  • Serve as the finance business partner for product business units and build analysis and reporting capabilities that will effectively support the product portfolio investment decisions


REQUIREMENTS:

  • 6-8+ years of finance/ accounting experience in management in a publicly traded company
  • Bachelors' degree in finance or accounting. MBA strongly preferred
  • Experience with Adaptive Insights, Tableau
  • Oracle or other large ERP system
  • Must have strong experience in reporting requirements, consolidations (domestic and international subsidiaries), GAAP and is well-versed in current accounting issues/trends
  • Demonstrated ability to work with global and cross-functional teams
  • Demonstrated ability to step-in and take ownership in a fast paced, results-oriented environment
  • Experience with public company earnings reporting cycles; inventory and international operations background are strongly preferred
  • Excellent computer skills with ability to design and maintain complex financial models and to create high quality financial presentations.
  • Proficient in MS-Word, Excel, and Power BI/Tableau

COMPENSATION:
Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual's skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs. With that said, as required by local law, Vaco believes that the following salary range reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure: $80 per hour. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
