Responsibilities

Responsibilities and Duties

Corporate

* Enter data into databases

* Follow SOPs and other applicable laboratory or company procedures

* Maintain confidential information

General

* Interact with the community and employees

* Support and participate in other company initiatives as directed by senior management

* Perform other duties as assigned

Specific

* Receive incoming histology materials and purchased products

* Coordinate block, slide, tissue and necropsy set up shipments, including courier deliveries

* Prepare blocks, slides and tissues for onsite archive

* Unpack and examine histology samples/materials received, verify against packing slips, complete inventories/logs as necessary and place in established locations

* Maintain Histology chemical/reagent/test article receipt logs

* Label Histology supplies and maintain inventories

* Package materials and label boxes as required

* Maintain stock reagents, chemicals and materials

* Manage hazardous waste and central accumulation area

* Follow all company safety requirements

Performance requirements

General

* Demonstrate an understanding of SOPs and Good Laboratory Practice regulations (21 CFR, Part 58) as these relate to study-specific services provided, this job description and general facility operations

* Demonstrate proficiency in the use of relevant computer systems, specifically MS Excel, Word, and Outlook

* Document all GLP, GCP, and process training, provide a CV and ensure that his/her training file is kept current

Physical Activity

* Moderate physical activity This position will require frequent walking, sitting and/or standing for extended periods of time, carrying, heavy lifting (max. 50 lbs.), reaching while standing, gripping and twisting hand movements, finger control and other general repetitive motions (for more than four [4] hours per day)

* Able to wear latex or nitrile gloves, dust mask or respirator, and safety glasses as required.

* Ability to read and understand applicable materials

* Manual dexterity to operate laboratory equipment and calculator/computer

Qualifications

Education and experience

* High School Diploma or GED, with lab and GLP experience preferred

* Experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Skills and abilities

* Organized

* Able to multitask

* General Microsoft office skills

* Able to communicate with management, co-workers and other team
