Minimum Qualifications Summary
Certification & Education
  • Master's Degree in Education, Social Work, or related field
Experience Required
  • 10 years' experience training in Social Services, community organizations, and/or non-profit settings
  • 5 years in implementing diverse training modalities for healthcare and/or social services related groups
  • 5 years' experience in providing train-the-trainer education
  • Preferred: Experience with training on DHHS (CDC, HRSA, SAHMSA etc.) programs
Job Objective
Support the integration of Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) prevention and sexual health resources into Housing and Urban Development (HUD) housing programs for young adults experiencing homelessness and unstable housing.
Responsibilities
  • Take overall training responsibility for teaching HUD case workers to deliver a new sexual health/HIV prevention resource kit for young people experiencing housing instability and homelessness.
  • Develop and deliver training on the project methods and activities to staff who will be involved in HUD grantee training, data collection, and monitoring and evaluation.
  • Develop training content and plans for HUD grantees.
  • Develop in-person training for HUD grantee staff responsible for providing the Resource Kit to clients (i.e., case managers) and the before the Resource Kits are disseminated.
  • Make training available to project partners, other HUD grantee staff, and other community public health and housing organizations.
  • Work with project partners to develop and deliver the training.
  • Ensure innovative training modalities that incorporate didactic and skill-building exercises.
  • Training content shall include, but is not limited to:
    • Training goals and learning objectives.
    • Basics of HIV/STI and epidemiology, risk factors and transmission.
    • Contents of the Resource Kit (resources and materials, condoms, HIV self-tests, referrals to care).
    • Delivering Resource Kit content (i.e., print materials, social media, websites, videos).
    • How and where to make referrals for HIV/STI and sexual healthcare, and other health and social services.
    • How to encourage linkage to care after referrals are made, and discussion of barriers to linkage.
    • Evaluation, and project monitoring and evaluation activities.
    • Post-training evaluation.
  • Deliver in-person training to HUD grantee staff responsible for providing the Resource Kit to clients (i.e., case managers) and Project Champions before the Resource Kits are disseminated.
Education & Certification
Master's Degree in Education, Social Work, or related field
Work Location
Remote. Some travel required within U.S. site locations to be determined by the CDC and HUD.
