Milton Hershey School (MHS) is one of the world's best pre-K through 12th grade private schools, where students from disadvantaged backgrounds are provided with a cost-free home and a top-notch education. Thanks to the generosity of Milton and Catherine Hershey in 1909, the school is fully endowed today, with the resources to ensure students can thrive. The school has prepared almost 12,000 graduates to lead fulfilling and productive lives and is expanding to serve more students.

MHS is seeking a Senior Director for its' Graduate Programs for Success Department (GPS) which is dedicated to preparing students for success in the very formative first six years post-graduation from MHS. This role reports to the Head of Divisions and is a member of several key committees. The Senior Director's role oversees a department of 20 professionals in three functions which include:

  • college and career readiness - providing educational programming and post-secondary counseling for 8th through 12th grade students,
  • continuing education scholarships - administering scholarship funding for over 500 graduates in post-secondary educational programming,
  • and post-secondary support - including students in post-secondary educational studies, the military, as well as the world of work.

The Senior Director is also responsible for enhancing current programs to increase post-graduate success, enriching partnerships with colleges and companies, and pro-actively researching and leveraging data to inform strategic planning. Oversight of additional functions include senior division standardized testing, senior division master scheduling and coordinating academic updates within the senior division. This role is an onsite position and compensates between $150K - $199K, plus an excellent benefits package.

Qualifications
  • Master's degree required.
  • 10 or more years of experience in high school, college, and career functions. Experience with first-generation college students desired.
  • Prior staff management experience required.
  • Demonstrated success in innovating programming and improving outcomes.
  • Demonstrated skills in leading, networking, collaborating, and influencing change.
  • Comfortable leading in a dynamic environment with competing priorities with a high degree of organizational capabilities.
  • Strong data and analytical skills.
  • Candidates must demonstrate a high degree of integrity as all MHS staff are role models for students.
  • Candidates should be eager to actively engage with students and graduates.
