Your Job

Our Little Rock, AR is seeking a Tooling Engineer to coordinate, direct and lead all tooling activities to ensure optimum engineering of all programs and projects to meet customer and manufacturing requirements.


Our Team

This position will be reporting to our New Product Introduction Manager. This position may include customer interface, resolution of design issues and working with other Phillips-Medisize facilities and internal customers in a courteous, timely and cost-effective manner.


What You Will Do

  • Develop tooling manufacturing timelines and communicate progress and/or changes on tooling to key stakeholders/business partners.
  • Follow up on tooling to ensure compliance with company standards in design, tool build and tool build schedule.
  • Evaluate tooling orders to determine whether tooling should be manufactured in-house or procured from outside vendor.
  • Actively pursue avenues to reduce tool build time and costs.
  • Support CAPA and RCA activities.
  • Actively participate in continual improvement/innovation initiatives.
  • Utilize Solidworks or equivalent CAD software and Mold Flow software.
  • Actively support production/manufacturing on all tooling related issues.
  • Support, and occasionally, lead Tooling Council initiatives or continuous improvement activities.
  • Support the Global Cost Development (GCD) process to establish tooling cost, part cycle times, estimates, project options, and design alternatives.
  • Throughout projects, identifying and planning safety into work activities to improve performance and comply with expectations around responsible use of resources.


Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Understanding of tooling types and classifications, multi-shot tooling and part DFM
  • Minimum of (5) years of injection mold tooling experience
  • Knowledge and experience of scientific molding practices and process development
  • Experience communicating with internal & external customers.
  • Able to travel approximately 20% to vendors and other Phillips-Medisize facilities based on project needs.
