Job Summary

Set up, test, and analyze test results of motors/systems to Agency specifications as well as assist with updating and fabrication of automated test equipment in an ISO 17025 Accredited Test Lab.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Follow procedures to perform operational tests on electric motors
  • Use an automated program to select and test motors on test fixtures
  • Setup and run tests on manual test boards and collect data using Excel
  • Prepare thermocouple wire for applications to motors (roll, strip, and weld)
  • Attach thermocouple wire to motors for the purpose of measuring temperature
  • Unbox and check motors into lab.
  • Lift motors (up to 50 pounds) and secure them in a test fixture for the purpose of testing
  • Do routine cleaning and upkeep on electrical/mechanical test fixtures.
  • Replace parts that are worn or broken.

Experience/Skills:

  • Simple Soldering
  • Take Volt/Amp/Ohm readings with a meter or other measurement devices.
  • Weld thermocouple wire
  • Make spreadsheets and simple graphs.
  • Knowledge Programming TLC devices
  • Desire to learn new processes and systems
  • Work as a support team member

Requirements:

  • Associates degree in Engineering, in process, or 1 year related experience with electrical mechanical devices
