Overview

Primarily responsible for the design and implement short- and long-term strategic plans to make certain network capacity meets existing and future requirements. . Manages projects to address requirements and enhancements through design and implementation of business solutions. Participates with IT Management in developing, defining, and building technology based business cases that will enable business and technology change in support of the bank's business goals and objectives. Provides bank-wide recommendation, coordination and implementation of data and voice telecommunications services and is primarily concerned with the overall performance and availability of the network and its systems.Develops technical and business relationships and integrates activities with other departments to ensure successful implementation and support of technology efforts.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

    Researches and recommends technology solutions to support the bank's long term strategy with a focus on the core systems, network, telecommunications and network security, including on-premise appliances and cloud base solutions.
  • Designs, develops, implements, and supports software interfaces, software packages, data conversions, and databases utilized throughout the corporation.
  • Responsible for the management and administration of the local area network (LAN) and wide area network (WAN).
  • Researches and recommends technical solutions for Windows servers, video conferencing, electronic faxing/scanning and other relevant software application tools and utilities.
  • Responsible for the overall technical operation and maintenance, including preventive maintenance of all assigned voice and data communications network/systems.
  • Manages, installs, configures, verifies and maintains data and communications network hardware and circuits. Provides coordination of all design, engineering, installation and repair/maintenance activities.
  • In house resource person responsible for the operation and configuration of the data communications system/network.
  • Performs functional testing to assure that business requirements are being met while following technical standards and procedures.
  • Contributes to the development of information security policies and processes, particularly those specific to disaster recovery planning and network security.
  • Stays current on industry advancements through continuing education, publications, user groups, and key vendor relationships.
  • Establishes and documents standards for configurations of hardware, software and all supporting systems. Sets guidelines for administration of technology systems.
  • Fosters and maintains good relationships with different levels of employees and vendors to meet expected customer service levels.
  • Develop and deploy methodologies for testing network performance and providing network performance statistics and reports.
  • Participates in the support of users, including on-call coverage as needed.
Qualifications
  • 5-7 years specialized training and experience in a Microsoft Windows computer operations environment.
  • Comprehensive banking experience
  • Working knowledge of data communications network and equipment (VoIP, Internet, Cisco router/switches/firewalls, switched network services, MPLS, and network protocols).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with an ability to express complex technical concepts in business terms.
  • Good project management techniques are required, operating as part of a team organizing, planning and executing large-scale projects from vision through implementation.
  • Knowledgeable in disaster recovery and business continuity subject matter including standards (e.g. ISO) pertaining to these topics.
  • Possess good coaching and consulting skills.
  • Required to work outside of normal business hours as needed.
  • External client interaction (meetings, networking etc), accomplishment of goals, accuracy and regulatory compliance are critical functions of this job
  • Specialized skills or sufficient experience with the use and installation of the following technologies: storage platforms and related software Microsoft Windows, Server, SQL Database general knowledge Active Directory - domain related service Services - DNS, WINS, NTP, SNMP Citrix Presentation Server VMware ESX Server and vSphere Voice and Data networking expertise - backup software general utilization Cloud base solutions and API Contact Center/Call Center business solutions Remote conferencing solutions
  • Governance and Controls (i.e., ITIL, Cobbit, etc.) Hands-on experience troubleshooting hardware such as servers, routers, bridges, switches, hubs, network interface cards, and so on.
Education
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field.
