Cybersecurity Architect & Incident Responder

Our local payment software company is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Cybersecurity Architect & Incident Responder to join our growing team. In this role, you will play a pivotal role in building, fortifying, and overseeing our security engineering and incident detection and response (IDR) capabilities. You will collaborate closely with stakeholders across technology and business units to spearhead the vision for secure architectures, design and implement defensive technologies and supporting infrastructure, and proactively identify and counter threats facing our organization at scale.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement comprehensive security solutions, taking them from concept to real-world application.
  • Provide technical leadership throughout the design and implementation phases of security projects.
  • Partner with stakeholders to deploy security tools and incident response controls across multi-cloud environments.
  • Develop and maintain Security Architecture Standards encompassing on-premise, hybrid, and cloud-native environments.
  • Collaborate with business units to establish best practices in business continuity/disaster recovery (BC/DR) and identity and access management (IAM).
  • Respond effectively to security events and incidents reported by internal and external sources.
  • Implement robust logging solutions across multi-cloud environments.
  • Proactively identify and address security events and incidents discovered through various detection mechanisms and logs, including participation in a 24/7 on-call rotation.
  • Develop and document playbooks to ensure consistent response to security events and incidents.
  • Mentor junior team members, fostering their expertise in incident response and security engineering best practices.

Primary Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in implementing security tools, working in incident detection and response, or a relevant combination of both.
  • Proven track record of leading projects to implement security solutions and security tools like SIEM, endpoint security, WAF, and other controls.
  • Working knowledge of cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, and GCP.
  • Deep understanding of security tooling functionalities and incident response processes.
  • Strong grasp of BC/DR and IAM principles.
  • Ability to deconstruct large-scale technical challenges into manageable tasks.

The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
