Primary Purpose
Provides leadership for the planning, development, and implementation of large-scale, major strategic business and technology projects for clean fuels infrastructure. Collaborates effectively with internal departments, stakeholders, cross-functional teams, and vendors to define requirements and assess alternatives and formulate solutions to business challenges. Responsible for budget and resource planning. Serves as the point of contact for all economic and regulatory issues for the assigned projects.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Manages and coordinates all activities leading to the successful completion of large-scale, major strategic projects including project scoping, timelines, cost estimates and design for clean fuels infrastructure. Develops and maintains project parameters for project requirements. Creates business cases and project justifications.
  • Leads project feasibility study that includes Front End Engineering Design (FEED) phase for new business territories, such as hydrogen and carbon management. Manages the engineering, procurement, and construction activities necessary to develop, license/permit, erect, start-up, and commence operation of complex energy projects. Directs, controls, and monitors team members, both internal and outside contractors, in the completion of their work.
  • Manages related workforce planning, budget analysis, and budget forecasts. Provides technical guidance to employees, colleagues, stakeholders, and/or customers.
  • Identifies, prepares, and obtains regulatory approval of new renewable/alternative energy power projects. Takes responsibility for various phases of a new renewable/alternative energy development project, including staffing, contract negotiations, supply chain, quality assurance, and government and public relations. Analyzes and determines regulatory impacts and requirements of projects.
  • Researches and evaluates contractors and consultants. Adapts departmental plans and priorities to address resource and operational challenges. Prepares, negotiates and approves or recommends approval of contracts. Negotiates contracts changes.
  • Testifies before and/or prepares documentation and/or proposal for CPUC and other government agencies concerning cost estimates.
  • Performs other duties as assigned (no more than 5% of duties).

$122500 - $183800 / year


Education

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or equivalent experience is required
  • Master's Degree, MBA or advanced degree is preferred

Experience

  • 8+ years of related experience is required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Project management knowledge required. Advanced
  • Must be able to assess the potential financial impact of a project to the Company. Advanced
  • Must possess the ability to review complex problems and propose innovative solutions. Advanced
