The Emergency Medicine/Family Practice/Internal Medicine Provider reports to the Program Manager and is supervised by the designated site medical director

Emergency Medicine Specialist (defined by current board certification) with a broad interest and experience in providing primary care across the range of office-based specialties including, but not limited to, GYN, dermatology, ENT, pulmonary, cardiovascular, ophthalmology, orthopedics, psychology, and gastroenterology.


Family Medicine Specialist (defined by current board certified or equivalent board certification) with interests as defined above and with interest, in additional training and practice experience to include the broad range of gynecologic, medical, surgical, orthopedic, psychiatric, and trauma emergency.


Internal Medicine Specialist (defined by current board certified or equivalent board certification) with interests as defined above and with interest, additional training, and practice experience to include the broad range of gynecologic, medical, surgical, orthopedic, psychiatric, and trauma emergencies.

Location: Marshall Islands

Responsibilities:

  • The Physician (GMO) will be assigned to treat patients in one of the following settings:(1) medical care clinics or (2) small medical hospital
  • The physician (GMO) will treat patients in these settings to ensure proper injury care and disease diagnosis, treatment, and recovery, request necessary tests and follow-up visits, and refer patients to specialists as necessary.
  • Some settings will require physicians (GMO) to coordinate with local hospitals to determine local capabilities, coordinate admission, monitor, and arrange final disposition. In addition, some settings will require stabilization of the patient and coordination of evacuation of the patient to the medevac center.
  • In some locations, the Physician (GMO) will have a leadership role and serve as both a Physician and Site Medical Director or Chief Medical Officer in support of a Program Manager.
  • Physicians (GMO) provide a USstandard of care for our patient care/treatment model.
  • Maintain the highest regard for patient dignity and observe the precepts of the American Hospital Association's Bill of Rights for patients.
  • All services shall be provided by established standards, principles, and ethics of the profession, applicable professional specialty organizations, and the high-quality standard for which Acuity is recognized.
  • All Health Care Providers (HCPs) will document care delivered and follow-up care required.
  • Attends and participates in a variety of meetings and task force groups to improve quality and outcomes, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems, and maintain a specific level of knowledge of new developments, new task efforts, and new policy requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED CERTIFICATION, QUALIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Physicians will have completed an undergraduate program, medical school (M.D. or D.O), Internship, and Residency program.
  • Valid unrestricted medical license in at least 1 state, territory, or commonwealth of the U.S. and will at a minimum be board eligible.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in specialty.
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications are required.
  • All Healthcare Providers and medical support staff must have a recent clinical experience in patient care for a least 6 months out of the past year.
  • Experience in both Hospital and Ambulatory Pharmacy and expertise in both outpatient and inpatient drug therapies.
  • Must hold and maintain board certification as defined in the scope referenced above:
    • American Board of Family Medicine Specialists (ABFM or ABMS)
    • American Board of Emergency Medicine Specialists (ABEM)
    • American Board of Internal Medicine Specialists (ABIM)
  • 3years minimum as a USlicensed attending Physician is required with additional training and/or experience in GYN, dermatology, ENT, pulmonary, cardiovascular, ophthalmology, medical, surgical, orthopedic, psychiatric, and trauma emergency also required.
  • Must hold a current and unrestricted US State Medical License. State licenses must be in good standing, without restrictions, and kept current through the period of employment.
  • Must have and maintain current certification:
    • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
    • Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS)
    • Basic Life Support (BLS)
    • DEA License
  • Must have a valid US passport
  • Must have current clinical experience in the last 6 months with direct patient care as an attending Physician.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Requires a favorable security background check and drug screen.
  • Must sign an International Assignment Agreement (IAA) and is bound to the terms and conditions of the IAA.
  • Must be current in all required certifications.
  • Shall be proficient in the ability to speak, write, and communicate in English.
  • Shall demonstrate proficiency in the use of basic word processing programs and the Acuity Medical Management Systems software.
  • A normal workweek is established by the Program Manager.
  • Safely performs duties and follows the corporate safety policy.
  • Participates in and supports safety meetings, training, and goals.
  • Ensures safe operating conditions within the area of responsibility.
  • Maintains a clean and orderly work area.
  • Other duties as assigned.
