The ideal candidate will lead the electro-mechanical assembly and testing of Econolite's market-leading traffic controller, detection, and other electronics-based products. The Lead Assembly Technician is also responsible for managing scheduling and workflow, lead and train assembly technicians, and ensure high-quality and on-time production. We are looking for a quality-minded individual with significant experience in electro-mechanical assembly, testing, and repair, along with a strong understanding of electronic parts, schematics, and sheet metal components, as well as experience in leading production teams.

DUTIES

  • Lead and train electro-mechanical assemblers and testers in the building and testing of electronic products.
  • Follow documented work instructions to perform electro-mechanical assembly, testing/troubleshooting, burn-in testing, and packaging for all electronic products as a senior-level technician. Attach correct labels to the products and various subassemblies, perform all the necessary quality inspections, and maintain all production test records.
  • Manage scheduling and workflow, delegate and monitor day-to-day activities for assemblers and testers, and generate end-of-the-day production reports.
  • Maintain high-quality production with a high sense of urgency and customer satisfaction.
  • Conduct short daily production stand-up meetings, participate in production status meetings with the Operations team, and manage and deliver on action items in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate with Quality Control and repair/warranty personnel regarding production processes and failed electronics. Participate in internal and external ISO audits.
  • Provide feedback for employee performance reviews and work proactively towards improved team performance.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in electro-mechanical product assembly and testing
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience as a production lead or supervisor
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience soldering micro-electronics
  • Technical training and certification preferred but not mandatory
  • Dexterity with hand tools, hand soldering equipment, and other typical electronic assembly tools
  • Proficiency in following documented work instructions and attention to detail
  • Computer skills (Use of Microsoft Office and other software)
  • Ability to lift 35+ pounds
  • Self-starter and the ability to work in a team environment and communicate well with peers and supervisors

PRE-EMPLOYMENT

COMPENSATION

The base pay range for this full-time non-exempt position is $26.00 - $32.00 per hour plus benefits. Pay ranges are determined by various factors, including role, experience, and location. The pay range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire rates for this position. Within the range, actual individual compensation is determined by various factors, including location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
