Must understand, lead and direct using POPI (Principles of Performance Improvement). |
Provides direct supervision to all production supervisors. Responsible for insuring all supervisors are properly trained in Safety, Quality and Production. Maintains quality and production levels and enforces company policies fairly and consistently. |
Facilitates the daily activities of the plant to ensure on-time completion of the production schedule. Works with department supervisors to develop run schedules for machine centers to ensure the shipping schedule is completed. |
The production superintendent will continually look for ways to develop and implement new processes and seek to improve existing processes. |
Works with the Mill Manager in purchasing and merchandising of veneer. |
Works with the quality department to ensure SOP’s are developed and implemented in the peeling, drying, gluing and finishing departments. |
Work with the V.P. of Manufacturing, financial analyst, plant manager and sales department in developing monthly plywood calculator to forecast future production. |
Sets standards for orderliness and organization of entire facility |
Promotes teamwork with employees by being an active member of the safety committee. |
Reports changes of any processes, major breakdowns and production needs to the Plant Manager |
Assists and/or prepares weekly summary of the plants performance for the executive group. |
Provide the guidance and tools necessary in safety. Leads by example and follow up on safety at all times. |
Assists plant manager with the creation of the plants yearly safety plan. |
Attend and/or assist Plant Manager with crew meetings. |
Lead and/or assist plant manager in KPI (Key Performance Indicators) meetings weekly. |
Run machinery when needed and only when you have been fully trained on the machinery. |
Assist in the training of employee advancement. |
Conduct new employee interviews as needed. |
Assist data administrator with production and quality paperwork for accuracy. |
Assist in updating and auditing KPI targets, efficiencies and baselines for accurate reporting. |
