Directly consults with dentists and specialists to effectively expand the Company's dental provider network. Focuses on key providers as indicated by non-network claims volume, key group need and targeted localities as identified by network development management working with Sales. Supports the Company's strategic goal to grow and expand the dental network into additional regions and markets such as Medicare Advantage.
Responsibilities
* Schedules and makes personal visits to key providers with goal of adding new providers to the dental network.
* Convinces providers to work with network development team to enter into provider contract negotiations. Supports the team through the negotiation process.
* Builds and maintains provider business relationships and knowledge of assigned geographical regions.
* Represents the Company at dental society and association meetings.
* Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
* Bachelor's degree in business or healthcare administration, marketing, or related field. In lieu of degree, may consider equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
* 3 years of progressive experience in health and/or specialty product insurance sales and service.
Technical Skills and Knowledge
* Intermediate Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) skills and customer relationship management sales and provider database skills.
* Knowledge of American Dental Association (ADA) codes and insurance operations.
* Competitive analysis and negotiation skills.
* Knowledge of dental insurance products; sales and industry processes including benefit plan design; provider fee schedules and reimbursement models.
* Good accounting and math skills; ability to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages and discounts.
* Ability to write business, creative sales, and marketing correspondence.
* Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from all levels of employees, groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
