Candidate will support the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) Simulation pilot support services which are integral to the dynamic of human and controller-in-the-loop real-time Aircraft Simulator Pilot and Air Traffic Control (ATC) simulation operations at the FAA's William J. Hughes Technical Center Target Generation Facility (TGF). The primary function of pilot simulation support services includes interacting with ATC, responding to the ATC clearances issued by the controllers, and controlling the movements of the simulated aircraft. The TGF provides real-time human-in-the-loop ATC simulation capability and generates realistic aircraft trajectories and associated digital radar messages for aircraft in a simulated airspace environment. Primarily, the TGF is used to generate real-time, interactive traffic in support of controller-in-the-loop simulations. Realistic traffic flows and voice communications are created in real-time via simulation pilots operating the simulated TGF 'aircraft' in response to ATC instructions.
