Passionate about making a positive impact and empowering others to lead healthier lives? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you! The University of Minnesota - Crookston campus is seeking a Residential Life Wellness Coordinator to join the team.

As the Residential Life Wellness Coordinator, you will have an important role in creating an inclusive and supportive community that promotes the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of our students. You will work closely with a diverse group of students, staff, and faculty to ensure the well-being of our residential community.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement innovative wellness programs and initiatives for residential students.
  • Coordinate and facilitate workshops, seminars, and events focused on physical fitness, mental health, stress management, and overall well-being.
  • Collaborate with campus partners to provide resources and support for students with unique needs and challenges.
  • Conduct regular assessments and evaluations to determine the effectiveness of wellness programs and make necessary adjustments.
  • Provide one-on-one support and guidance to students, offering resources and referrals when needed.
  • Serve as a liaison between residential students and university resources, ensuring that students have access to the support they need.
  • Stay informed about the latest research and effective approaches in the field of wellness and student development.


Compensation and Term

  • 10-month renewable contract.
  • Compensation commensurate with experience, qualifications, and academic discipline.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • One year of experience (including undergraduate employment) in Residential Life, Student Affairs, or a closely related field.
  • Demonstrated self-awareness, cultural competence, and achievement in working with diverse student populations.
  • Demonstrated commitment to the land-grant mission of the University of Minnesota Crookston, especially as related to access and student success.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with faculty, student affairs educators, and students.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Student Affairs, Counseling, Health Promotion, or a closely related area.
  • Experience in higher education providing service to college students with diverse identities including first-generation college students; students of various racial, cultural, and ethnic
  • backgrounds; students from low-income families; students from rural communities; LGBTQ students; and non-traditional adult learners.
  • Proficiency in a second language, preferably Spanish.
