Ferrous Processing and Trading (FPT) is one of North America's premier processors, buyers, sellers, and recyclers of scrap metals of all kinds and is a key supplier to the metals industry of North America. FPT a wholly owned business of Cleveland-Cliffs has an immediate opportunity for a Courier at our Detroit, MI location. The Courier will collect and deliver intercompany and external envelopes and packages to the Michigan and Windsor, ON locations.

Summary of Responsibilities:

• Safely and securely loading, transporting, and delivering packages to specified destinations.
• Determine the most efficient routes to ensure timely deliveries and avoid delays.
• Perform routine maintenance checks on the delivery vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including time of delivery, recipient details, and any issues encountered.
• Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations as well as company policies and procedures.
• Ability to address and resolve any delivery issues or discrepancies promptly.
• Collect, and sort mail and intercompany mail packages.
• Create overnight, expedited delivery pickups (FedEx/UPS/etc.)
• File as necessary.
• Other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma/GED
• Must have a valid enhanced driver's license.
• Knowledge of transportation rules and regulations.
• Be familiar with mailing systems (postage meters/ mail web portals).
• Must be able to read, write, and perform basic math.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to maintain accurate records.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Work cooperatively with other employees and the public.
• Pre-employment background, physical, and hair drug screen required.
