Job Description

The Training Specialist is responsible for organizing and coordinating training programs for employees within the Agency. They assess training needs, deliver orientation training, coordinate training sessions, maintain the LMS and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs. Training Coordinator plays a crucial role in ensuring that employees are equipped with the necessary skills to perform their job effectively. This is a hybrid position.

Duties and Essential Functions

  • Assesses employees training needs, maintains records of training activities, monitors program effectiveness, and recommends improvements.
  • Tracks and reports on employee participation or assessment results.
  • Works with designated Division training contacts to assist with setting up trainings, delivering reports, etc.
  • Creates training calendars and arranges for internal or external trainers.
  • Coordinates materials and facilities for training sessions, including handouts, supplies, technology, and virtual or physical conference rooms.
  • Responsible for maintaining and assisting others on the use of a Learning Management System and address technical issues, manage reports and training content updates, manage the certification and enrollment processes and cultivate positive vendor relationships.
  • Delivers predesigned in-person training programs.
  • Gather feedback from trainers and trainees after each educational session.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Associate's or bachelor's in education, Training, HR or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in training.
  • Performs work under minimal supervision.
  • Ability to handle complex issues and problems and then refer only the most complex issues to higher-level staff.
  • Possesses some knowledge of subject matter.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Ability to build collaborative relationships.
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Possesses planning and organization skills.
  • Ability to do 20% local travel for off sites when needed.
