As Logistics Procurement Manager you will report to the Director of Transportation and Logistics in North America and will partner in sharing and implementing best practices in the following Logistics categories across North America:

  • Transportation including bulk, dry van, and rail.
  • Warehousing
  • Global Trade including freight forwarding, ocean, air and drayage.

This role will work with cross-functional teams in North America and other global leaders operationally responsible for logistics in their region, Global Procurement Organization, and the commercial business to understand key logistics supply trends and how that may influence supply strategies to deliver a sustainable financial return for the company.

Responsibilities and Focus Areas

  • Manage the development of key relationships in the region and engage the buy in from key stakeholders in developing and then implementingthe category strategy.
  • You will work alongside internal operations teams as well as external 3rd Parties to help drive productivity and maintain a low-cost position. In these scenarios, a successful candidate will be expected to help design and deliver structural and breakthrough savings.
  • Develop strategies to select new and maintain existing suppliers based upon previous performance and established criteria which will result in "value creation" and competitive advantage for Solenis.
  • Manage and execute savings through management of RFPs and Strategic Sourcing events.
  • Monitor industry and regulatory trends in the market to identify and mitigate negative impacts to inflation.
  • Negotiate contracts and amendments with Logistics partners that align with the operational, commercial, and legal goals of the business.
  • Work with TMS/Tableau/SAP reporting software to generate relevant reports for business updates, external and internal meetings and developing and tracking savings initiatives.

Key Outputs/Deliverables:

  • Drive analysis of financial and operational performance data (spend and predictive modeling) to identify key insights and opportunities to improve the end-to-end transportation network (carrier strategy, direct material, and supplier scorecards).
  • Create analytical models and reports to document and validate savings, KPIs and cost reductions.
  • Collaborate with all stakeholders and business partners on a day-to-day basis to enable Solenis to meet, grow, simplify, and build goals across organizations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in business / supply chain or technical area (Engineering, Chemistry, etc.)or equivalent experience.
  • 2-5 years of commercial experience in logistics, procurement, or operational categories
  • Experience in transportation is a must, warehousing and global trade is preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to interface and communicate clearly and effectively.
  • Knowledge around the chemical industry is a plus.
  • Strong conflict resolution skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally and cross-culturally with colleagues and suppliers.
  • Commercial acumen, understanding of the business and environment, with a heightened sense of good judgment.
  • Good facilitation capability - experience of leading / participating in cross functional projects.
  • ERP System experience preferred.
  • Ability to travel both domestically and internationally up to 25% of the time

This role will be remote, however will need to live within driving distance of either Wilmington DE, Florence KY or Fort Mill SC.
