Job Overview

OmniOn Power IT team is seeking a highly skilled Windchill Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and Engineering Tools (CAD and CAE) Solution Architect to join our team. In this role you will be responsible for the development and implementation of Information Technology (IT) initiatives and governing policies to deliver improved capabilities and productivity supporting our global business and future strategic objectives.

Job Responsibilities

  • Analyze business needs and translate that into IT action steps including responsibility for current-state assessment, strategy/roadmap development along with the appropriate reviews and approvals as needed.
  • Design, implement, and maintain Windchill PLM & engineering tools solutions to support business processes and requirements.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and analyze business requirements and translate them into IT action steps including responsibility for current-state assessment, strategy/roadmap development along with the appropriate reviews and approvals as needed.
  • Configure and customize systems to optimize performance and functionality.
  • Serve as technical expert responsible for the design and implementation of an assigned applications area(s), which supports client and/or business objectives and plans.
  • Develop and maintain system documentation, including design specifications, configuration guides, and user manuals.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to Windchill PLM system.
  • Stay current with industry trends and best practices in PLM technology and recommend improvements or enhancements to the system.
  • Administer and maintain engineering software on workstations and servers including and not limited to the following tools (Creo, Cadence, Source Intelligence, S&P Global)
  • Create and manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls for all supported systems.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for software issues.
  • Develop and maintain documentation, including installation guides, user manuals, and troubleshooting procedures.
  • Stay current with updates and patches for software and ensure timely installation and testing.
  • Coordinate with vendors and external partners as needed to resolve technical issues or procure additional software licenses.
  • Train super users on software functionality and best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with licensing agreements and software usage policies.
  • Participate in business process evaluation/improvement activities, requirements gathering, system analysis, system design, software / hardware applicability studies and system implementation and executes projects based on these activities.
  • Provide input into the technology plan for the IT organization and ensure that plans for the assigned applications integrate effectively with other aspects of the technical infrastructure.
  • Advise management on application and supporting technology purchases and on future projects or environment upgrades / modifications.
  • Work as a business partner with client users to evaluate / improve business processes and arrive at mutual, cost effective, solutions.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field OR 10+ years of experience in IT application development & management.
  • Minimum 5 years IT application development experience including enterprise-wide deployments, business integrations and sustaining efforts.

Desired Characteristics:

  • Experience as a Windchill PLM Administrator, Solution Architect or similar role.
  • In-depth knowledge of Windchill PLM system architecture, configuration, and customization.
  • Strong understanding of product lifecycle management concepts and methodologies.
  • Experience with CAD administration and integration, preferably with Creo and Cadence.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in software design and development for web and cloud/SaaS environments in programming languages such as C#, Java, JavaScript, and SQL.
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills that have been leveraged to drive change and successfully deliver significant IT programs. Ability to communicate across all levels of the organization, technical and non-technical audiences, to convey complex IT information in a clear and concise fashion.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and solve problems, determine appropriate actions and complete projects with little direction.
  • Strong experience in project planning and execution
  • Previous experience establishing internal continuous improvement activities to drive efficiencies, manage/reduce costs, and improve service.
  • Experience leveraging shared IT services, internal or external, to drive cost effective service delivery.
  • Solid experience as a change leader, preferably with experience instituting new, global processes and tools.
