Advanced Analyst - Apex Legends

Summary

As an Advanced Analyst - Apex Legends, you will analyze player behavior data, conduct experiments, and provide actionable insights to make the game more fun for players. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Analytics, you will collaborate with Game Designers and Product Managers, having an impact on core systems of one of the world's biggest shooter titles.

Flexible or on-site (Los Angeles, Vancouver, Madison WI) work preferred. Remote work available.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with game designers, product managers, and analysts to support engagement and retention strategies in Apex Legends
  • Analyze player behavior data and provide insights on game features including matchmaking, first-time user experience, progression systems, new game modes, and more
  • Conduct A/B tests and causal analysis to evaluate the impact of different strategies
  • Develop dashboards and presentations that summarize insights, working with partners to define success metrics and democratizing access to insights
  • Model and simulate complex in-game gameplay systems, both in-development and post-launch
  • Collaborate with Data Engineers & Data Architects to build data structures enabling scalable analysis

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of professional experience analyzing large datasets, visualizing information, and informing company strategy. Preferably in the gaming space.
  • Bachelor or Master's degree in a quantitative field (Computer Science, Statistics, Economics, or related discipline).
  • In-depth knowledge of SQL, with experience writing queries for complex data sets to extract insights
  • Proficiency in statistical analysis and data visualization using tools like Python, R, Looker, Tableau, etc.
  • Experience with game design principles, retention strategies, and engagement strategies. Passion for gaming and creating exceptional player experiences.
  • Experience creating & delivering presentations that convey nuanced analytic insights to senior leadership across Game Design, Product Management, and Engineering.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and effectively balance multiple projects while delivering high-quality work.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

The base salary ranges listed below are for the defined geographic market pay zones in these locations. If you reside outside of these locations, a recruiter will advise on the range and benefits for your specific location.

Pay offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and business or organizational needs.


BASE SALARY RANGES

* California (depending on location e.g. Los Angeles vs. Sacramento):
$140,700 - $204,700 USD Annually
* New York (depending on location e.g. Manhattan vs. Buffalo):
$125,300 - $204,700 USD Annually
* Jersey City, NJ :
$164,800 - $204,700 USD Annually
* Colorado (depending on location e.g. Denver vs. Colorado Springs):
$131,000 - $174,800 USD Annually
* Washington (depending on location e.g. Seattle vs. Spokane):
$125,300 - $198,100 USD Annually
* British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria):
$107,600 - $147,100 CAN Annually

Base salary is just one part of the overall compensation at EA. In the US, we offer a package of benefits including paid time off (3 weeks per year to start), 80 hours per year of sick time, 16 paid company holidays per year, 10 weeks paid time off to bond with baby, medical/dental/vision insurance, life insurance, disability insurance, and 401(k) to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity. For British Columbia, we offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
