Position Title: Welding Process Specialist
Location: North Hollywood, CA
Target Salary Range: $90k - $100k (DOE)

Provides technical support in the areas of welding process and procedure to various companies in a sales capacity. The Welding Process Specialist assists the field sales team in welding equipment and automation machines, filler metal, and shielding gas demonstrations and sales. Working with the Generalist selling team, the Welding Process Specialist will evaluate existing or potential customers present methods of metal joining, looking for cost reduction solutions that create value added selling opportunities for Airgas. The Welding Process Specialist will take every opportunity to transfer sales skills and welding process knowledge to the Generalist Sales force during joint sales calling. The Welding Process Specialist will be required frequently to prepare and perform training to Airgas customers, and employees, in the areas of welding process, procedure, and safety. The Welding Process Specialist will assist the selling team in the preparation of proposals and presentations to significant customers or business opportunities.
  • Assist the Airgas Sales team in actively pursuing and acquiring, on an ongoing basis, new and competitive accounts with emphasis on gases, welding equipment and consumables.
  • Expand existing customer base and sales with product lines from Airgas inventory.
  • Maintain and upgrade selling skills and technical / product knowledge of the Generalist Sales team.
  • Complete and turn in sales related paper work.
  • Provide market and competitor information to the VP of sales.
  • Lead and promote safety, attend safety meetings, and strictly observe safety rules.
  • Maintain a professional and neat appearance of self and vehicle when representing the company.
  • Prepare and present proposals and presentations in multimedia formats to existing or potential customers, or other business opportunities.
  • Prepare and present training materials to customers or Airgas employees.
________________________Are you a MATCH?

  • 5 + years experience in the welding supply and distribution industry and 5 years experience in outside field sales.
  • A.W.S. Welding Inspectors and Welding Educators certificate.
  • Must have reliable transportation to travel to regions to work with other associates.
  • Ability to work independently and under some pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent public speaking skills.
  • Very good PC skills in the Microsoft Office applications of PowerPoint, Word and Excel.
  • Good math skills.
  • College level education, though no degree required
