Job Summary:
Support the development and optimization of cutting-edge aerospace and aeroderivative gas turbine systems, insuring their applicability to the OEM businesses. Assist in highly complex projects, focused on new designs and processes, leveraging lean tools to improve production efficiency and key business metrics.

This role is not available for new/future sponsorship or transfer of nonimmigrant work visas.

Responsibilities:
  • Own all technical aspects of Heat Treatment and Braze processes.
  • Perform Temperature Uniformity Survey and System Accuracy Tests.
  • Use project management skills to lead assigned projects/programs to successful completion.
  • Collaborate effectively to develop robust manufacturing processes that meet requirements for schedule, cost, and performance.
  • Publish technical reports, specifications, procedures, and work instructions.
  • Develop KPIs to effectively manage process and product outcomes.
  • Identify and drive process/tooling/equipment improvement opportunities and implementations, adhering to lean manufacturing principles.
  • Coordinate prototype submissions with relevant personnel for approval.
  • Design engineering experiments and function as a technical mentor to less experienced team members.
Qualifications:
If you have a bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Materials or Chemical Engineering along with 3 years in a fast paced, collaborative Process Engineering role, joining Chromalloy is a great career move. In addition to your education & experience, as a team player you will also have the following skills:
  • 3 years or more working experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications
  • Strong technical, communication, and project management skills
Preferred skills:
  • Knowledge of FAA guidelines for PMA requirements and compliance testing
  • Proficiency in statistical analysis software in Minitab or similar
  • Experience with continuous improvement, six sigma, lean manufacturing, design thinking methodologies
  • Knowledge in PLC programming and experiences in robotic application
  • Experience in the aviation industry and with superalloys
