Overview:

HGA is an award winning architectural, engineering, interior design, and planning firm with a full-time opportunity in our Rochester office for a talented Interior Designer. In this position, you will collaborate with and be an integral part of the architectural and interior design team, supporting the development of the Interior Design efforts; performing all technical aspects of the interior design process from project setup through to construction administration; and assisting and participating in data gathering, planning and documentation.

In this role you will:
    Collaborate with Architectural and Interior Design teams to develop the interior design direction, translating complex programming requirements into design solutions for healthcare, workplace and education projects ranging in size and budget.
  1. Prepare plans, 3D sketches, or other visual aids to demonstrate designs to client.
  2. Research, select, and specify materials to support clients' standard finishes and design goals and technical issues influencing interior design concept development.
  3. Work within project schedules to prioritize tasks and project costs while coordinating the completion of documentation required from initial design phase through final project completion.
  4. Collaborate and communicate effectively and professionally with multidisciplinary team members.
You will need to have:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree from an accredited Interior Design / Interior Architecture program
  • 5+ years of interior design experience
  • Professional licensure and/or certification preferred
  • Knowledge of:
    • interior design concepts, materials, and furnishing requirements - including concepts, practices, standards and principles;
    • thorough understanding of the technical process for large and small-scale interiors projects;
    • building materials, specifications, and construction techniques;
    • applicable codes (city, state, federal); and
    • finish materials, FF&E selection and specification, interior design components for millwork / casework and construction detailing.
  • Proficiency in Revit, ACAD, and 3D tools such as SketchUp, Enscape and other graphic tools is highly desired.
  • Fluent knowledge of Bluebeam Studio, Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office suite is highly desired.
  • Detail-oriented work style with excellent problem-solving and organizational skills with the Ability to work independently and manage workflow across multiple projects
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Passion for thriving on working across disciplines and solving unique design challenges for a variety of project sizes and budgets

Salary Information:

The pay range listed aligns to the geography of the office for which this position is posted. Actual compensation will be based upon work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Individuals in this role working more than 24 hours a week on a regular basis are eligible to participate in HGA's robust benefit programs which include an annual bonus and success sharing bonus program, 401(k) guaranteed contribution, paid parental leave, medical, dental and life insurance plans as well as PTO and short- and long-term disability programs. Salary Range: $57,400- $72,500
