This position determines operations to produce products and develops processes to ensure quality, cost and efficiency requirements are met. This individual will be implementing and optimizing industrial processes and manufacturing systems to achieve incremental and sustainable improvements. The goal of the position is to improve efficiency, quality, productivity, and safety while minimizing costs, waste, and environmental impact.

Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

    Evaluates, implements and monitor processes and operating systems for the manufacture of plastic products.
  • Troubleshoot problems with production and takes corrective action.
  • Researches the purchase of equipment or upgrades to existing equipment.
  • Creates/edits/maintains necessary documentation.
  • Monitors and improves the efficiency, output and safety of manufacturing processes through observations and measurements as well as by collecting and interpreting data from other technical and operating personnel.
  • Works closely with key business stakeholders on the qualification of new products, materials and equipment.
  • Builds and implements process and automation solutions throughout operations either independently or in collaboration with the process, design, and automation engineering teams.
  • Contributes to root cause analyses, corrective actions and continuous improvement activities.
  • Works closely with other specialists (including scientists) for quality control of raw materials.
  • Assumes responsibility for safety/environmental issues and ongoing performance of processes.
  • All other duties, as assigned.
Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Requires a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Degree (electrical, mechanical, or computer science preferred)
  • Strong understanding of mathematics, mechanics, robotics and computer technology.
  • Prefer one to three years of experience but will consider new grad with strong internship/co-op
  • Knowledge of industry regulations, compliance, and related state/federal laws is preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Prefer programming experience (embedded, desktop, PLC, scripting, etc).
  • Prefer CAD experience.

Physical Requirements:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand and/or sit up to 8 hrs/shift. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds of tool and/or equipment.
