The Communications Manager is responsible for creating internal and external communications plans and programs for the assurance line of business. The position will be responsible for building strong relationships and developing multi-channel, compelling strategies, tactics and deliverables to inform, engage and align stakeholders with firm programs.

Essential Duties:

  • Serve as a communication lead for the assurance line of business. Participate in strategy meetings with business and service line leaders and with communications, marketing and growth teams. Develop communication strategies and plans that support assurance business, marketing and growth objectives and align with RSM's overall vision, purpose, values and strategies.

  • Develop compelling and creative internal and leader communications that inform, engage and inspire appropriate behaviors and actions around assurance business priorities. Publish and integrate consistent messaging across various platforms and channels (e.g., intranet, email, webcasts, SharePoint, Viva Engage) and coordinate the logistics of communication tactics and campaigns to ensure timely and effective execution. Develop processes, templates, toolkits, and meetings in a box.

  • Collaborate with SMEs, editorial, marketing, public relations, and outside PR agency to develop media relations and thought leadership strategies to promote RSM's audit and assurance expertise and middle market perspectives. Write press releases and social media posts, prepare spokespeople, build media relationships and coordinate interviews.

  • Identify appropriate metrics and KPIs. Monitor and measure results and evaluate communications for continuous improvement.

  • Ensure connectivity and alignment of assurance communications with other line of business, enterprise, industry, global and digital strategies and initiatives. Collaborate with leaders, communications colleagues and counterparts in other functions to ensure communications are planned, sequenced and integrated across the enterprise. Work with the RSM International Executive Office as needed to enhance awareness of U.S. capabilities across the network and alignment with the network around key business objectives and initiatives.

  • Build relationships with team members and key stakeholders. Actively participate in communication team meetings to share ideas and insights to continually improve communication processes, tools and results.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

EDUCATION:

  • BA/BS (required)
  • MBA (preferred)

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

  • Exceptional writing and editing skills (required)
  • Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint (required)
  • Dynamic Signal or other social media platforms (preferred)
  • SharePoint (preferred)
  • Viva Engage (preferred)

EXPERIENCE:

  • 7+ years of corporate communications experience (required)
  • Demonstrated experience defining and managing communications strategy for a business unit (required)
  • Effective presentation and communication skills (required)
  • Ability to learn new subject areas quickly (required)

LEADERSHIP SKILLS:

  • Highly collaborative and able to work with a variety of stakeholders to achieve results (required)
  • Proven experience working in a complex, matrixed environment (required)
  • Ability to advise and coach executives in communications best practices, developing compelling messaging and delivering effective communications (required)

Compensation Range: $100,000 - $171,100
