Selective Insurance is seeking a Sr. Claims Operational Insights Analyst for our Charlotte, NC office on a hybrid schedule. This role will transform, cleanse, and combine claims data from a variety of internal and external data sources to uncover insights that can be used to inform stakeholders and aid in decision making. Produce descriptive and diagnostic analytic solutions to provide business with an understanding as to what is currently happening in the business and industry wide. Detect, troubleshoot, and foresee data and analysis issues. Work directly with the business to provide actionable, data-driven insights. All job duties and responsibilities must be carried out in compliance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform a variety of ad-hoc analyses for functional areas to better understand business problems by leveraging knowledge of current state, current processes, future needs, and industry trends to aid the creation of best practices and decision making.
  • Prepare, cleanse, and manipulate high-volume, high-dimensionality data from varying sources in order to highlight patterns, anomalies, relationships, and trends.
  • Perform descriptive and diagnostics analysis to understand relationships related to highly complex data business problems via effective data visualizations and other presentation techniques for potential new operational monitors and metrics.
  • Conduct complex and comprehensive data analysis spanning internal and external data sources such as financial, competitor, marketplace, and third-party data.
  • Provide strategy support through decision analytics and research including executive summaries, hypothesis testing, data exploration, and experimental design, operations research, and third-party insights.
  • Leverage data visualization and dash boarding to support operational monitoring, track operational activities and identify outcome variances and anomalies.
  • Research and recommend new data and tools to enrich analytical solutions across functional areas.
  • Effectively communicate the insights to senior business leaders generated from analyses through presentations, data visualizations, reports, and executive summaries.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree with 5-7 years of data analysis experience.
  • Property Casualty Claim industry experience required.
  • Demonstrate understanding of data visualization methodologies and their business applications.
  • Exceptional organizational, time management, and project prioritization skills.
  • Effective communication skills and presenting in front of Senior Management.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with business.
  • Experience with Business Intelligence tools such as: Power BI.
  • Capability to manipulate and present data utilizing advanced Excel skills.

The expected starting salary range for this role is$82,000 - $118,000. The actual base salary is based on geographic location, and the range is representative of salaries for this role throughout Selective's footprint. Additional considerations include relevant education, qualifications, experience, skills, performance, and business needs.
