The Analyst, Business Operations Transformation will work under the guidance of the Senior Manager of Business Operations Transformation and the Senior Director of Continuous Improvement. The Analyst will support the team of business operations specialists to enable the ongoing enhancement of AES Global Renewables.

This role will focus on supporting the enhancement of people development, processes, technology, systems, and procedures (collectively, 'ways of working'). These ways of working enhancements will align with the Global Renewables Scale to Grow (GRS2G) program objectives of (a) supporting AES' Global Renewables business growth at scale, (b) increasing the rate of on-time/on-budget performance of renewable energy project delivery, and (c) improving the quality of the experience of AES Renewables people.

In this role, the Analyst will gain an understanding of the AES Global Renewables Organization. They will have opportunities to work with all of AES Global Renewables' functional groups and to support the areas of organizational improvement that are needed to keep AES Global Renewables as an industry-leading renewable energy and decarbonization solutions provider.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Support in identifying, planning, and communicating areas for improvement: Working cross-functionally, the Analyst will support the Senior Manager in gathering insights from across the company about potential ways of working on improvements. They will assist in synthesizing findings and making recommendations for ways of working on improvements.

  • Support in designing and facilitating workstreams: The Analyst will support the Senior Manager in using the GRS2G methodology to work with cross-functional groups of AES Renewables experts organized in improvement workstreams to design, develop, and implement organizational improvements. This includes but is not limited to:

    • Supporting internal stakeholder identification and engagement.

    • Assisting in planning and facilitating quarterly GRS2G improvement workshops.

    • Supporting Workstreams and Workstream Leaders in developing quarterly sprint improvement plans.

    • Assisting cross-functional teams to deliver improvements through agile/scrum meetings and methodologies, including bi-weekly "stand-up calls" and weekly progress reporting.

    • Supporting in drafting and creating critical business operations documents and supporting materials such as processes, procedures, policies, charters, architectures, and supporting reference materials.

    • Assisting in the identification and engagement of senior business leaders to make key business decisions.

    • Supporting in using various facilitation techniques in GRS2G workstreams to champion collaboration and critical thinking to help drive innovative solutions, and report on the progress of improvement workstreams to ensure improvement workstreams achieve quarterly improvement objectives and deliverables.

  • The analyst will work closely with workstream leaders and the AES Renewables Change Management Team to ensure that the new ways of working are communicated, understood, and adopted. This includes:

    • Supporting the development of Change Management plans.

    • Assisting in identifying change impact audiences and quantifying levels of impact.

    • Supporting in building educational materials to help raise awareness of new ways of working.

    • Assisting in designing training materials to help ensure new ways of working are adopted and implemented by target audiences.

    • Supporting in the development of communications strategies and packages to help ensure broad-based understanding of changes being made.

  • Support in driving continuous improvement feedback loops: The Analyst will work with designated teams to receive feedback from the organization about implementation. They will support the Senior Manager in ensuring that the GRS2G program rapidly adapts its improvements to meet AES Global Renewables' dynamic business environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Liberal Arts, Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or equivalent.

  • Either a Master's degree in Business or 2 years of direct experience in organizational change/process management and/or business consulting.

  • Inquisitive, possessing capable analytical and problem-solving skills, adept at systems-level thinking, and possessing a "Growth Mindset".

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, capable of managing healthy conflict while maintaining interpersonal business relationships.

  • Training or accreditation in Lean Six Sigma and/or Agile Methodologies is a plus.

  • Experience with digital management systems and/or Artificial Intelligence a plus.

  • PMP certification or PMI experience is a plus.

  • Knowledge of the energy industry, and renewable generation technologies is a plus.

  • Solid Microsoft Office 365 knowledge including Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, OneNote, and SharePoint, required, capabilities in SAP ERP implementation a plus.

The expected salary for this position, at commencement of employment, is between $65.000 and $80.750/Annual; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements such as annual bonus, in addition to a full range of medical, dental, vision, life, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if a candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an "at-will position" and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
