Job Description

Description & Requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Build and manage an account pipeline by identifying and assessing new opportunities for appropriateness.
  • Oversee opportunity pursuit through award.
  • Develop and execute Capture Plan.
  • Develop and conduct decision gate briefs as necessary to win opportunity.
  • Manage transition from opportunity discovery to the proposal process.
  • Provide direct support to Proposal Manager (e.g. ensuring capture hot buttons, win themes, discriminators are properly documented in the proposal; contributing to and authoring content, as tasked; and providing review and edit throughout proposal phases).
  • Provide inputs to annual team strategic plan development in line with company strategic planning guidance.
  • Perform other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree.

Required Experience:

  • 5+ years related capture/business development experience.
  • 5+ years Program or Project Management experience
  • Experience leading Capture and Pursuit efforts >$50M
  • Experience marketing capabilities to DoD customers.
  • Experience supporting business development programs focused on opportunity identification and development and long-term strategy development.

General Skills:

  • Must be an organized, aggressive, highly skilled professional, knowledgeable in government contracting, with excellent collaboration skills.
  • Must possess excellent communications skills.
  • Must be self-motivated, able to work with little or no oversight for long periods of time, and able to think strategically.
  • Must be familiar with online tools used by the Federal Government for solicitations.
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills, as well as an ability to gain support and establish working relationships with managers, peers and staff.
  • Must be able to demonstrate a proven record of success managing capture efforts.
  • Must possess demonstrated skills in all areas of business development including: opportunity qualification, capture strategy, customer visits, customer relationship development, relationship development with competition, team leadership, etc.
  • Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must understand and have experience with training customers.
  • Must be able/available to travel frequently. (80% or more)

Computer Skills:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Clearance:

  • Must possess an active Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret.
