Senior Paid Search Manager

American Public Education, Inc.

The Senior Paid Search Manager is part of the APEI Marketing team and will focus on paid search channels across APEI portfolio brands. The ideal candidate will have had experience in managing and optimizing paid search campaigns across Google Ads & Microsoft Ads as well as across different types of goals - whether driving consideration or action. This person will work closely with media strategy, as well as others on the marketing team, to ensure execution is aligned with our objectives and performance is driving towards our goals.

This position reports to the AVP, Paid Media Strategy. This role has no direct or indirect reports.

Responsibilities:

* Responsible for strategic input and oversight of paid search campaigns driving growth objectives.
* Manages and optimizes paid search strategies, including the development and execution campaign launches, management of automated bid strategies & utilizing new and emerging best practices.
* Plays an important role in defining the media strategy and executing/optimizing campaigns.
* Measures campaign metrics and KPIs (CPL, CPC, CTR, Conv Rate, etc.) for optimizations to increase ROI.
* Continually update and align paid media strategies with new and emerging best practices to improve quality and efficiency.
* Collaborates with internal creative & admissions teams to produce effective creative to drive improvements in engagement and performance.
* Collaborates with project management team to ensure effective & timely launch strategies.
* Owns day-to-day vendor & platform relationships; managing deliverables and implementations based on vendor recommendations.
* Remains up to date on emerging marketing trends and technologies and helps identify new and innovative ways to promote the university and other APEI clients.
* Strategically perform A/B tests; identify hypothesis, measure, report, and advise on future implementation of those learnings.
* Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • 4+ years' experience managing paid search campaigns Ability to build, manage, and optimize campaigns in Google and Microsoft Ads
  • Responsible for execution of tactical paid search annual, quarterly and monthly plans
  • Contribute to and assist in development of strategic planning and forecasting
  • Ability to create effective ad copy materials, which adhere to strict University standards and guidelines
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data to optimize marketing ROI and performance
  • Experience in Google Analytics and/or similar analytics platforms
  • Highly skilled in Microsoft (Excel, Word, Powerpoint)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proactive & Positive

Recommended Skills:
* Google Ads Search Certification, Google Ads Measurement Certification
* Experience with 3rd party management tools such as SA360
* Experience with MMM attribution tools
* Experience within the Education industry
