OVERVIEW

Responsible for producing our unique products for law enforcement and military applications, utilizing CNC.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Produces machined parts by operating a HAAS CNC (Computer Numerical Control) Mill/Lathe
  • Reads and interprets work instructions, prints, and job order for product specifications such as dimensions and tolerances, and tooling instructions
  • With assistance, troubleshoots, edits, and optimizes new production programs to ensure efficient overall production
  • Document new program changes and processes to ensure setups can be duplicated and overall production time is optimized
  • Observes operation of machine and verifies conformance of machined work piece to specifications, using measuring instruments, such as fixed gauges, calipers, and micrometers
  • Deburr parts to ensure they meet blueprint specifications
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures
  • Setup machines on a flexible basis to ensure optimum output throughout the shop
  • Assists Engineering and Quality in developing standards and methods
  • Assists Engineering and Quality in developing work instructions
  • Follow instructions and select appropriate tooling and fixtures
  • Uses measurement tools i.e., digital calipers, micrometers, tape measure and other measuring instruments
  • Able to analyze measured dimensions and adjust tooling & work offsets
  • Performs preventative maintenance on equipment including top-off lubricants
  • Cleaning responsibilities include equipment, chip removal, and work area
  • Maintains safe work environment
  • Works under supervision and independently
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 1-3 years of experience setting up and operating HAAS CNC mills and lathes
  • Basic computer skills:
    • Manage login passwords
    • Manage production drawings and data responsibly
    • Manage emails using MS Outlook
    • Responsibly use monitored electronic resources
  • Experience with Multi-axis, Y & C axis lathes equipped with live tooling preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints in order to compare measured features
  • Must be able to lift between 25-35 pounds on a regular basis and occasionally between 35-50 pounds. Considerable standing, stooping and bending required
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Able to follow instructions and select appropriate tooling and fixtures
