Environmental Planning Specialist, Mid

The Opportunity:

To grow effectively, organizations need help looking at their operation from the outside. Whether standing up a new organization, transforming an existing one, or transitioning an organization such as a merger or split-up, our clients need a change management consultant who will take the time to learn the complexities of their mission and provide them with tangible advice on business process improvements, mission success, and standard methodologies.

That's why we need you, an experienced management consultant who knows how to analyze every aspect of your customer's operations and use your specialized experience to give them the roadmap to becoming the organization they envision.

As a general management consultant on our team, you'll develop an overall picture of your client's current structure, day-to-day operations, and outcomes in a manner that they may not have thought of before. Through discussions and workshops with stakeholders and support staff, you will identify the elements that work best in their environment and the areas for improvement. Once you have a thorough understanding of where and how the organization can improve, you will present the path forward and the expected results to your client.

This is your chance to work closely with Department of Defense (DoD) clients to comply with environmental planning and conservation law requirements for climate resilience and natural resources projects.

Work with us as we help our Nation's Defense evolve.

Join us. The world can't wait.

  • Knowledge of encroachment, land use management, endangered species, historic preservation, and climate resilience as it relates to military or federal lands and operations
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, and SharePoint, and database management
  • Ability to work on multiple assignments simultaneously and quickly learn and adapt to new subject areas
  • Ability to function independently and as part of a team

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience supporting the DoD with environmental planning requirements, including requirements under NEPA, Sikes Act, ESA, MMPA, NHPA, and CWA

  • Knowledge of timelines and required approvals for U.S. Army Corps of Engineers CWA permits for common nature-based solutions projects such as constructing living shorelines and stormwater management ponds
  • Knowledge of state-specific environmental planning requirements, prioritizing requirements in Hawai'i
