Overview

Orrick currently has an excellent opportunity for a Legal Project Manager - Cybersecurity Practice. This position could be based in any of our U.S. offices (Austin; Chicago; Boston; Houston; Los Angeles; New York; Menlo Park; Orange County; Portland; Sacramento; San Francisco; Santa Monica; Seattle; Washington DC; or Wheeling, WV) with consideration given for 100% remote US locations.

The Objective: As a Legal Project Manager - Cybersecurity Practice, you will collaborate with the cybersecurity practice to achieve strategic goals, enhance the practice, and support clients. This includes leading online safety initiatives, managing business development, and supporting practice initiatives while working closely with the Chief Practice Officer and Practice Manager.

Our ideal candidate will swiftly grasp legal complexities, build rapport with stakeholders, excel in communication and project management, and possess experience in high-level legal practice and understanding of large law firm

Responsibilities

How will I spend my time?

You will spend most of your time on these responsibilities:

    Leading strategic initiatives, focusing on cutting-edge online safety campaigns.
  • Driving business development efforts and nurture client relationships.
  • Partnering with our Chief Practice Officer and Practice Manager to drive excellence.
  • Taking charge of project management with proactive, solution-oriented approaches.
  • Proactively managing and executing on projects and tasks while being highly responsive to practice requests.
Qualifications

Education:

  • JD or Graduate degree in relevant field (e.g., business administration, psychology, or organizational development).

Experience:

  • 5-7 years' big law practice experience or 7+ years in practice management, professional development, and/or firm management.

Skills and Abilities:

  • A deep understanding of, and experience with, the pressures of practicing law at the highest levels, the dynamics and business models of large law firms, and the motivations and concerns of elite lawyers.
  • Strong financial, analytical, and project management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written), with strong influencing capabilities.
  • Ability to gain credibility and trust of associates, partners, and firm leadership.
  • Effective problem-solving skills in varied situations.
  • Commitment to inclusive approaches and team cohesion.
  • Creative problem-solving abilities.
  • Sound judgment and adherence to high process standards.

Compensation and Benefits

The expected salary range for this position is:

  • California Major Markets* $98,000 - $134,000
  • New York City $113,000 - $134,000
  • National $88,000 - $113,000

* California Major Markets includes San Francisco, Silicon Valley, Los Angeles, Orange County, Santa Monica. All other California locations fall within National range.

Orrick is committed to providing a comprehensive, competitive, and thoughtful total compensation package to our attorneys and staff, wherever they work. This compensation and benefits information is based on the Orrick's estimate as of the date of publication and may be modified in the future. The level of pay within the range will depend on a variety of job-related factors that may include, but not limited to, qualifications, relevant experience or education, particular skills or expertise, geography. Other compensation may include an annual discretionary merit bonus, which would be determined by Firm and individual performance.
